Bucks In Foul Mood After Loss At IU

No. 13 Indiana made all the plays at the end to pull out a tough 74-70 win over No. 2 Ohio State Saturday night in Bloomington.

  • Great title. I wonder how much the refs made on this one.

    Doc

  • Man that stinks, we really are missing a deibler type of shooter, that we can count on late in games.

Sounds like Indiana might be for real this year, they have now beaten #1 and #2.

Or a PG who doesn't turn the ball over so much in the clutch like Conley

  • Way to write in the most unbiased way possible. However, this was a real hatchet job by the officiating crew. Indiana won because the refs wouldn't let OSU play defense without ticky tack foul calls. Worst officiating job I've ever seen. Can't wait til Indiana comes to C-Bus and gets killed when they don't have a home crowd supportive officiating crew paving the way. Home team favoring officiating is the number one reason I'm a football fan first and foremost. This game was tainted. Anyone who can say otherwise is smoking something.

  • Let's give Indy credit, they have really improved....but the refs killed us in the first half and them in the second half, so it kind of evened out....poor decisions by Buford and Craft, good learning experiences.

  • Well, after I've settled down a little, I'm thinking it might be better than winning everything last year for so long and having all that pressure. These guys know now that they have to work harder. It does make you wonder about that Kentucky/Indiana game, though. I didn't watch it. Were the refs as bad in that game?

    buckeyelouey

  • Despite extremely poor officiating, we still should have won this one...that's what really ticks me off. Guard play was about as bad as the officiating...can't imagine that will not be the worst that Craft will play during his OSU career...and we still were just made shot away. Glad 2012 is here...

  • Heck I wanna know how much Thomas got paid? That kid didn't show up at all!!! Looked like he didn't care to even be on the court

    truebuckeye

  • the only thing that's making this a little bit easier to swallow is the fact that wisconsin lost at home.

  • Buford needs to get his head in every game. Craft was brutal on offense in the final four possessions. And Thomas needs to play better defense than a tree if he thinks an NBA team is going to draft him. Sam Thompson welcome to ESPN top 10 plays.

I will take Crafts lock down D and occasional bad game over Olay Conley anytime! You can win without a scoring point guard, you cant without D.

Well let's see if we can get to the final 2 instead of a early exit like last year when that PG splashed the game winner in Craft face. One thing Conley was, he was clutch. He took games like this over.

  • Refs really sucked, but we need to recruit someone that can shoot the Rock, like Deb's, terrible shooting tonight and 27% from 3 point land, we will lose at least 3or 4 more games, no where near as good as last year!!

    rdavis

  • Problems....
Craft was the leading scorer for the game....
Sullinger did not touch the ball on either of the last 2 possessions.....
Craft's 2 TO to end the first half..and the biggest TO to end the game
    Buford is simply NOT clutch....
    FT's...AGAIN
    Tooooo many TO's.............
IU had 5 people score in double3 figures...........
    Thomas was below average....
    First half foul trouble...............
Sullinger sitting for 12 minutes of a 40 minute road BIG 10 game..........
Buford simply not letting the game come to him...no reason to not be in double figures...PERIOD
    OVER-FREAKIN-ZEALOUS ZEBRAS...............

    GOOD
    Not a got damn thing......................censored

  • We basically have guys we are supposed to be able to depend on. That is Sully, Buford, Craft, and Thomas. When we play good teams, at least three of the above mentioned need to have good games. Craft did not, Thomas did not, Buford did not, and Sully missed too many free throws. Now, the horrible officiating was a huge factor. However, I'm not upset because we played a good team on the road, had bad officiating, did not get a good game from most of our dependable players, and it still went down to the wire.

We are not as good as were last year at this point, but we definitely have the potential to be better/deeper by the Tourney.

  • The ref's took Sully and Thomas out the first half, but Thomas is lazy and loafs on defense. His second half defense was a joke, IU knew Thomas is horrible on defense and isolated things against he and tore him up with ease, even Dakich said it.
Thomas to the NBA, please, he is so inconsistent on offense and he is horrendous on defense.
Missed free throws hurt. Too much dribbling many times and turnovers by Craft, my god give the ball up.
Smith good game, but when you get a nice pass from Sully for a lay up or dunk and you finger roll it and miss it, finish the damn play, that was a sure two points until you got cute.
Thompson, star in the making and I think he starts taking minutes away from Sibert. Just like Kansas, Sibert looked like he had fright stage on the road.
Bad reffing in the first half, but we had a chance to win. Turnovers, missed free throws and bad defense by Thomas had more to do with this loss.
I am at a loss we did not go for the tie, I am stunned to be honest, take it into OT, Zeller fouled out.

  • Fellas losing in the regular season isn't the worst thing ever.. Look at the last 5 nationa; champs. They all have 3 or more losses in the regular season.. Perfect regular season = a great reason to fail in the tourney..

He would have made it over Conley too... Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the shooter... Crat wasnt the reason we lost.

PLEASE do not insult trees like this....trees have the ability to stop something right at them at least!:)

usually agree with you BUT does 27% sound like a good number, not when that's what you shoot from 3. if you want to place game, how about our SENIOR class....has there been a big game that Buford showed up big?

    les

  • This game was there to win, but I am still stunned how Buford did not get two shots on that one play right before that half? He was fouled shooting, those hack ref's make the right calls that is two points at the FT line.
Even on that "supposed" stripped that three dumb ass ref's looked at each other with a minute and a half to go when Buford was driving and pointed IU, Buford got raked right across the arms.
Bad play at times for OSU, but these ref's sucked and took all our momentum and double digit lead away from us in the first half.

SENIOR, SENIOR WE HAVE A SENIOR WHO NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER SHOWS UP FOR A BIG GAME...BUFORD TURNED IT OVER AT THE END TOO.....I ONLY HOPE THE NCAA DOESN'T LOOK INTO THE MONEY SITUATION THAT MIGHT BE HAPPENING...CRAFT'S PASS TO THOMPSON UNDER THE BASKET WASN'T BAD, THOMPSON WASN'T READY, OTHERWISE EASY DUNK. AND LAST YEAR, OUR SENIOR WENT WHAT 2 - 18 AND AGAIN TOOK THE MONEY SHOOT, I MEAN A 3 POINTER.
