I'm not too excited because all i know about the young man is that he doesn't show-up on time and/or fails to keep appointments. Chris Carter's son comes to mind. I hope he can be someone we can be proud of on & off the field.......right now i have my doubts....i hope he proves me wrong.

This quote makes you look bush league. Why would insult this young man in this manner? Are you a relative? Teammate? if not, you should'nt spout off what you don't know.

Welcome aboard young man! Buckeye Nation Welcomes You!!!

First I want to say that I am very happy for the kid and glad he is able to be a buckeye. However, I just don't see OSU caliber speed out of him. I think if he works on that and gets faster he can be a hell of a player for OSU in the future. Has great hands and size for WR. Again, its obvious he wants to be a buckeye and I am glad his dream came true and I hope I am wrong. I was saying the same thing about J.T. Moore when he committed and now all I hear is how great he will be, I hope this is the case here as well!

    Welcome to the family Roger!!

And James Louis was going to be a stud and Troy Smith was a throw in... and on... and on....

    :)

  • Ohio Capital Conference a huge part of this recruiting class. Lewis makes number 6 from the conference.

  • Speed is not the best way to judge receivers. If so, Jerry Rice would have never made the pros.

  • Since when did a 4.45 40 turn mediocre? 4.45 is absolutely flying. Look at last years NFL combine. There might be 15-20 players who posted a better time than that. C'MON MAN!

Guys, 4.42-4.45 is flying for a guy who's 6'2" and 195lbs. I don't understand why people are critiquing his already excellent speed. Give it a rest..

Dumb comments like this make me wonder why I'm on this board. 4...were you part of the situation with him showing up on campus? Do you know what led to it? Do you know everything the staff does? If you can't answer yes to all of those questions...don't blast the kids character in a public forum like this.

    Welcome to the family Roger!

  • "You jump up and down because he's a talented young man who was MVP at a Buckeyes Camp, so obviously the Coaches see more of his Talent than you do. Additinally, Green-Beckham? No chance, Diggs? No Chance, so why wait for young men who are never coming here. Marty Madaris doesn't have an offer yet (although I think he should) and Standford is no gurantee either (I think his Commitment is contingent on what Adolphus Washington does), so what are we supposed to do? We will probably add Mike Thomas into the fold who is a gamebreaker. That is a pretty solid WR Class."

Don't misunderstand me - I am not AGAINST the offer, I am just in the "let's wait and see" catagory. He may turn out to be very productive, as I tried to imply with the reference to Robiske, another guy with the same measurables who didn't have 4 or 5 stars, and turned out well. I hope the same for Lewis, but I'll hold my enthusiasm for when I see what he can do. No, I'm not an "expert", but I can read as well as the next guy.

As far as Green-Beckham and Diggs go - how do you know what they're going to do unless you're clairvoyant. Last year at this time I was putting out Curtis Grant's name on Bucknuts during the annual LB recruiting melt-down, and got the exact same response: "He's the nation's #1 LB, and the overall #2 recruit on Rivals. There's NO WAY he ends up a Buckeye!!!" I think we all know how that one turned out. Don't count the elite guys out just yet. Its not like OSU is Appalachian State. Or Michigan...

Rice didn't turn in the best forty time but he was not slow with a football in his hands.

Something tells me Luke would find room for those guys. Hopefully, they'll get to see a lot of Braxton in September and start lining up some visits.

  • Rivals just put up a video talking about the commitment with some footage of Lewis at camps from this summer. Kid flat out dominates the 1 on 1 drills he was shown in. Very physical, great hands, and goes up over defenders for the ball.
