Ohio State offensive line coach Ed Warinner was in Michigan Wednesday and liked what he saw of a huge offensive tackle. Moments ago the Bucks extended a scholarship offer.

This is one good thing about not getting a ton of commitments early. Some guys blow up late, and other '5 star' type guys (like Notre Dame commit Steven Elmer, who was a top 2 tackle last year and is now behind Evan Lisle at 16) start to fall. The security of early commits is nice, but confident recruiters like Meyer aren't afraid to wait and see what develops.

I can't believe it took this long to offer him. He is on his toes and moving his feet well for his size. Made a couple athletic moves on his tape.

Michigan's leftovers. Seems like a bad sign. Bollman would get killed for this. Hopefully, he's a late bloomer and we can stick it to Hoke.

Reminds me of the situation where ttun took that player from Glenville last year. Not a super star, but more of a project/foot in the door at an opponents pipeline. Has the size you can't teach.

If I had a nickel everytime I read Duane's phrase, "OL is the hardest position to project" then I would have at least a couple bucks.
This kid is clearly a late bloomer so I think a Decker comparison may be valid to a limited extent.
It is great that TTUN decided to fill up at the 'hardest position to project' early and now someone at their pipeline school couldn't be offered even if they wanted to. In the meantime they sit with tub o'lards like LTT on their commit list who were once thought to be elite and now look pretty average.
Unlike Bollman who would sometimes recruit size alone (see Rehring), Warriner has a knack for recruiting kids who will excel within the spread system (see ND and Kansas). He knows what Urban needs to succeed so I am more comfortable with the offers knowing the next Evan Blankenship is not going to be offered by this staff.
