  • Absolutely! If the refs just got a couple of those calls right then the game may have gone in a completely different direction. I don't mean to sound like 'sour grapes' here but it seems like we are getting screwed by the refs in EVERY big game this year. Ted Valentine is the worst ref I have ever seen! PERIOD. Jared Sullinger has to be the most frustrated basketball player ever. I don't know how he can keep his head after the bullshit he has to put up with every game! It seems that HACK A SULLINGER was implemented into the officiating handbook as a non-foul. Yes, the Bucks missed shots but it's hard trying to beat your opponent and the officials night in and night out!

  • Home team wins at a very high percentage for a reason. Don't be Michigan pansies and blame refs. Championship teams play through that stuff and find ways to win. This team lacks leadership. Period. Buford is a major, major, major disappointment.

    Wish we could blame the refs. Not saying they were good but can't shoot under 20% of 3s and win very often as we have seen in our last 2 losses.

    Actually at the foul line: OSU 10-15, M 9-14

    Refs were awful, but we never even had the lead, couldn't make outside shots let alone 3's.

    Refs were awful, but not the reason we lost. It's like watching Bollman call the offense...

  • Bottom line...

    We can't hit a 3 to save our life, this has been killing us recently. Buford is not the stud we need him to be. He is a GREAT shooter/scorer but he isn't the type of player who can take a team on his shoulders and win a big game on the road, which is what we need him to do. That is what is so disappointing to me. Games like tonight when Thomas comes out ballin and Buford is m.i.a. Also we got out-hustled tonight, how many easy buckets did scum get on us? Or times when we had a 3 on 2, turned the ball over and then they convert their 3 on 2 the other way. Buford is a microcasm of this team...we are a good team, one of the best teams in the country and in the big ten but we are not elite.

    Trey Burke would be on the bench if he play for Matta. The man has no game plan. He has more McDonald All Americans than anyone in the B1G and he can't dominate. Can't develop players and will not substitute when he need to. Buford and Sullinger stocks are taking a nose dive. He must have the easiest job at Ohio State. The expectation for the basketball program are so low that no one give a damn. Sullinger made a big mistake coming back and playing for this clown. Now we all know why every decent players leave early for the pro.

    Totally agree. Wish he would use the bench for something more than practice players!!

    Bad game by the Buckeyes but the refs help to set the tone for a hostile environment and the Buckeyes couldn't get mentally tough enough to win this (lack of senior leadership/leadership in general).

    Burke better than Ctaft, please. Burke has free reign to run a crappy offense. Craft actually plays within a system. Craft only scored two but we all saw he should have scored at.least 2 more with a minute left had the refs not had the home team's genitals so far down the throat that the couldn't blow a whistle. Burke did nothing in the last 5 except make a layup that no one saw fit to help on during a 25 foot drive.

    I don't disagree with you at all on that point, 465....just saying that we don't have a comparable guard on this team who can score like Burke. That's all.

    I love Craft. But he needs a scoring backcourt mate....and we don't have one...which in turn, marginalizes him.

    You are right, Drew....this is not an elite team. It was about six weeks ago. No longer. Death spiral is more like it.

  • There is no denying, if you know hoops, the refs were awful!! However, we did not deserve to win the game the way we played. We shot the ball terrible (except Thomas - stud - and we didnt feed him enough!). We played Bufford 40 minutes when he was awful at shooting and defending the ball - why??? Frankly - almost every big game, he chokes. We need to rotate some shooters in for Bufford when he is not performing...every team will collapse on Sully if we dont shoot it better. In addition, mix it up with Amir, he had 2 rebounds in 3 minutes, plus forced a mis-directed shot on D; give him a chance, with and without Sully in the line-up...it will all help Sully and the team.
