Ok, a little off season down time fun! Question:... if Urban Meyer stays here 10 years, can he better Jim Tressel's record of accomplishments as Head Coach of the Buckeyes?
Not stating of being a fan of Jim Tressel or being his supporter, I am just stating his record which is a fact. His ending or fall, are not part of the discussion, here. Just the facts....I am not interesting in hearing an attack on Tressel......just stating his performance.......
9 wins aganist Michigan. 7 wins in a row aganist Michigan Six B10 outright or shared Conference titles. 6-4 bowl record, won 1 NC, played in 3 NC games. 106-22 record or ,828 % winning, Big 10 record of 66-14
What do you think....Can Meyer better or match Tress's stats?.

I have no doubt he will whatsoever, if..... He stays long enough. He will out-recruit and out-coach the rest of the BIG10. He will kill it in the post season as well... Only a handful of coaches can match his intensity, attention to detail, work ethic, and personality. It truly amazes me what Tress did with the staff he had. But in the End, Meyer will be better.

In all honesty, I kind of hope not. The last decade was phenomenal, and the Buckeyes for the most part were able to win all of the games they were supposed to win. The Conference Championships, the BCS appearances, etc. were all special. However, I hope Urban is faced with a much tougher B1G across the board. I think OSU suffered in the national picture because the B1G did not challenge us. We were able to take good, not great, OSU teams and use Tresselball to squeak out victories. It let us keep mediocre assistants around for far too long, because the league wasn't good enough to make it essential for them to be replaced with better coaches. And it let us take more regional players just so they wouldn't go to the B1G competition, but didn't force us to go national to get the best and be competitive with the elite programs.
JT had a remarkable tenure here, but was aided by a somewhat down era in the B1G. I want the Buckeyes battle tested at the end of the year. I want them to get dinged here and there to learn and spur growth to be great when it matters. I want the B1G to be feared from coast to coast.
