Geez Bdiggity I just started a thread on this an hour ago.

Lets not count our chickens before they've hatched. I want Urban to be the next HC at tOSU as much as anyone, but lets wait till it's official before we make threads like this.

Nothing wrong with hypothetical speculation!! I think the combo of a coach like Urban and the tradition of tOSU brand would be a ridiculous combo! He would close strong this year and pull some of these kids back and maybe snag a few that don't have tOSU high on their list at this point. Next year's class will be sick!! Get all the studs and corn fed boys from the midwest and dip into the other recruiting hotbeds to pull a few...ridiculous classes will follow!

I listened to a national talk show the other day about new coaches and historical data showing recruiting bumps, and most of it was Meyer to OSU. They pretty much agreed Meyer is a big big brand and name, combine that to OSU with no sanctions, he would close strong. They discussed how in his last few years at UF, he was stealing 5 star kids from Carroll in Ca and and few from power schools in the mid south and east coast, he brings big recruiting success.
Urban Meyer could help OSU close strong. Forget a few Ohio kids we missed, he could land a few kids south, to mid south to east coast alone based off his brand and ties, and he would lock down Ohio in the future, plus maintain his solid national ties.
Meyer to OSU would almost be unfair to the Big Ten, lets make it happen. And in fact, would be shocked if it did not.
Meyer at OSU would be like Matta at OSU, land Ohio's best and stealing national elites as well.

Bdigitty I don't think you can get Decker he was always a ND guy. Everyone else will listen which means we'd have a shot. The biggest problen would be numbers. We'd have to have some leave to bring them up and there worse next year.

If urb is hired, i could see him bringing back a few of the recruits we've lost, and possibly a few guys from the south that urb might have known when he was at florida.

Don't be shocked if many of the kids we are now after never get a call from Meyer. He's made it very clear in the past that we lack team speed. I could see him digging deep in FL from day 1 and pulling a few LB's and DT's that we are not even on right now.

Tom you think we have a shot at getting Dodson back into the 2012 class if we pull Urban early enough in December? I hope so. He was the biggest in state OL loss so far for me. I would love to see what he could as a run blocker and pass protector in our offense. We have some great players that would fit Urban's offense very well and I'm sure he could run some I formation and use our TE's. We don't use 40% of our offensive potential right now. For the record I'd like to see us get Urban and close out this class with Dodson, Diamond, Davidson, Washington, Odenigbo, Thomas, Stanford, and Bradley

Just know this, Meyer will attract immediate attention from a lot of "verbals" and still uncommited "elites" right away. And, I do mean elites. The days of "big, slow" OL will be over. You will see big, athletic OL like you have not seen at OSU in years.

Combine this foundation with the speed athletes we already have and what he will bring in, and all I will say is OSU will own the Big Ten and ready to go after anything the SEC can offer.

Believe me, Saban and Miles know this for sure.

OSU Nation needs to speak loud and clear to the OSU administration. The "perfect storm" is right there to be had. Meyer to OSU will the # 1 sports story of the year.

Urban will close this sucker so quick and easy.

We will have at least two 4 star tackles by mid January.

Does our team actually practice now? Sometimes (most times) I can't tell on offense.
