    Hopefully since it is not live - more will turn out.

  • I'm just glad its on tv, period. it's not like i have to go radio silent to avoid hearing the outcome like i would if it was a taped delayed actual game. it's a practice people.

    My family bought 20 tickets. We had not been to Spring Game in Columbus. I think there will be a lot of people in the same boat.

    When we went to make a purchase online (about 3 weeks ago) there wasn't much left -- all the lower level sidelines were gone and so was one endzone.

    I can't imagine that Ohio State is projecting the spring game to be a positive revenue stream. So this is a way to get more people to the game and make more money off. I don't know what Mike Brown's charging for the stadium, but if history is a indication then it's not cheap. I'm sure the BTN made the decision, but the probability of it helping ticket sales left Ohio State in a position to not object too much.

    There is no question that Mike Brown and Hamilton County are thrilled that there is no live TV, and I'm sure that OSU is not upset by it. This is a tough sale for local Cincinnatians. It will take a lot of traveling Buckeyes, in a 2.5 hour driving radius, to reasonably fill PBS. The upper deck is empty right now, and this stadium only holds 60K+, not 105K.

    Right now, most sales are secondary Stub Hub sales of lower level tickets for $30-$35.

  • You younger guys need to chill out about Sprring Practice.....it was not on TV for years, and then when it was shown it too was not live but shown on local OSU station chanel 34. We are spoiled here at OSU. Anwway, you will find that most of the Spring practice games are a dissapointment, bacasue the guys we want to see play about 5 minutes, and then a guy that we have never heard about(like that Thomas kid a couple of years ago) catches 50 balls, and we go nuts thinking..wow we have a star..and then you never hear of him untill the nex spring game......excuse my memory(on his name) but we had a guy here for 4 years, who they called "Mr Spring Game" here who looked like a Heisman triophy winner every year in the Spring game, and then did diddly-squat when inserted in a real game....I know we all want to see Braxton, and his gang in action after watching basketball for 5 months...but lets face it...having the game in Cinncinnati is the first stupid thing here, and not live TV is sort of the icing on the cake.....but hey tune in anwatch the replay...no one is a bung hole here...its just plain business......Ok now you can call me every name in the book...ha ha....

  • I complained on twitter and got a response from BTN. Michigan and OSU both refused to move spring game. Both will have games tape delayed. Still lame.

    This is the truth.

    Relative to other potential programming for BTN that day, our spring game would be the most interesting option. But, seeing the next coming of Bam Childress, or whatever his last name was, does not trip my trigger.

    I can handle tape delay; I'd be out cycling anyway during the live event.

    Diddy, go get a drink and watch some BB. Toast the fact that Jeans wasn't on the selection committee.

  • I suspect that this has something to do with the OSU Athletic Department and BTN attempting to push fans to go to the game since it's in Cincinnati. Just speculatin'

    2nd Mistake: Having it in Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium.
    3rd Mistake: Having it in Cincinnati, at Paul Brown Stadium, and the remaining Buckeye fans that don't attend can't watch it live... FAIL.

    So basically both kids wanted to play with the toy at the same time. When neither would accepting with said toy later in the day it was just taken away from both.
