Ohio State adds Reid Worstell to 2013 recruiting class as preferred walk-on
By Charles Doss on Feb 7, 12:03p
Canton, Ohio native Reid Worstell, will live out a life long dream and suit up for the Buckeyes next fall.
uesday evening the Ohio State football team added a preferred walk-on commitment. Reid Worstell, a quarterback out of Canton GlenOak High School decided he would call Columbus home for the next few years. Reid had an impressive senior campaign ending the season with 1,863 yards passing and 15 total touchdowns, leading his team to an 8-3 record and a playoff birth. All his hard work didn't go unnoticed: Scout.com rated him as the #143 quarterback in the nation, grading him out as a two-star prospect.
The 6-3 210 lb Worsell, who also had interest from Akron (where he reportedly had a full scholarship offer), Buffalo, Kent State, Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan, but in the end, none of those schools could keep the Ohio native from living out his life long dream. "Being a Buckeye has always been a dream of mine and for me to get the opportunity to be apart of a great football family was a no brain decision", Worstell told Land-Grant Holy Land.
Reid has already had the opportunity to sit down with his future coaches "I took my official visit to Columbus this past weekend" Worstell said. The staff made sure that he knew nothing was guaranteed and they were looking for a team player to bring into the fold "They (coaches) told me I'm an athlete, so whatever I can do to help the team is what I'd be doing".
As many of you are well aware, the recruiting process can be a stressful time for everyone involved. When it's all said and done though, most recruits would agree they can't wait to run out onto their respective team's field on Saturday afternoons in the fall. Worstell, in this case, is no different, "I can't wait to be apart of something special and live out a dream I've always wanted to live". You don't need a degree in Architecture to see that the coaching staff is building a foundation of winners; Worstell's background would suggest he fits that mold.

"Bill, What do you know of the GlenOak QB Reid Worstell?"
Mr. Kurelic's reply:
Worstell is having a good junior season. He has good size at 6-foot-3 and about 200 pounds. As far as I know he does not have any offers yet, but he has the potential to be a D-1 guy.
