wow i wonder who forked all that money to get them out on bond. BAMA already headed down hill.
A former five-star recruit for the Crimson Tide was arrested for the second time in two days and was among four freshmen who face charges of second-degree robbery or fraudulent use of a credit card stemming from Monday arrests.

We wondered how the Tide would make room for their class. Well they now have carte blanche to cut loose the lowest rated among these four. Especially Calloway who has already had multiple run-ins.
Seriously though, firearm possession?! This means the kid was carrying it on his person without a CCW permit. Not just owning a firearm. That is some heavy stuff for a college freshman. Let alone the robbery!
If Clarke gets a huge strike for shooting a BB gun into the air then I would think Pettway has to be gone. I know Saban won't want to lose him though so let's see how it plays out . . .
This will just give Saban an excuse to sign 4 extra players in the 2014 recruiting class. Look for a class around 30 for the Tide (more if someone gets hurt, or non-contributers get arrested)
ECU grad, tOSU fan for life. Father since 1/12/13.
I always hate to see kids who have the whole world in front of them make stupid decisions like this.
They better get their act together ASAP or Saban just found 4 open scholarships for his over-signing projects.
can anyone tell me if ESPiN is running the ticker on all their channels? I'll bet not.....
"according to a source familiar with the goings on behind the doors of the WHAC,there is absolutely no panic.Actually, quite the contrary."
It's the first story on the headlines on espn.com.
Waiting for GetYaDickUp to chime in how this happens everywhere in 5...4...3...2...1
They probably spent all their signing bonus money.
But it could have been worse - they could have been caught trading personal memorabilia and autographs for tattoos.
Yeah I wonder who tipped off the fuzz. I net the call originated from sabans phone.
Nice sig bro!
WOW...that is premeditated CRIME, not some violations. I would think they would be dismissed from school, yet alone the football team.
Dan the mushroom hunter, the deer slayer, and diehard Buckeye fan!
Wow! And to think people (OSU haters) did and still do call us "cheaters" for a few players selling swag for tat's.........jesus.
Let's see how the University responds......that is why the SEC oversigns.....Saban is smiling.

"Playing here is the closest thing to heaven on earth..." - Brian Rolle
That's probably about as far as it'll go. lol
Terrell Pryor was driving with an expired insurance card and "let's run the ticker at the bottom of all our channels nonstop, break coverage of regular programming, and make it the lead story of sports center for three days."
This is FFARR more serious but will get a 10th of the coverage. They barely reported on the Auburn players who got busted for armed robbery after the NCG too. If ESPiN were a dog, they'd definitely be accused of having selective hearing.
$EC, $EC, $EC!!!
Comparing the amount of coverage for players committing crimes compared to a possible NCAA scandal isn't the best way to make your point. Players commit crimes, even robbery and the like, often enough that it doesn't make for as exciting news. If you were comparing the coverage of an OSU player committing a crime to an SEC player committing a crime, or the OSU scandal to another school's scandal, then that would make more sense.
Sorry this is a little OT but a couple people have referenced the bail. Bail doesn't work like it sounds. I may be a little off with specifics but I believe one only has to post 10% of the bail, so $10K on $100K bail and if the suspect doesn't have the money they use a bail bondsmen to front it and the suspect pays a fee to the bail bondsmen. At least that's what I gather from many years of Dateline!
Right, Dateline. lol
