I love the optimism, and I barely have time to watch OSU games, let alone other teams. But what little I saw of Michigan the last 2 weeks combined with our odd performance ag/ Wisconsin, has me worried. Anyone else?
Always nervous toward the end of November. My early years as a buckeye fan, the indoctrination years, were the Lloyd Carr versus cooper years.....that wasn't a good period for us and the game. So yes I'm nervous too. But am confident in the leadership and play of several guys like simon and the o line as a whole. And we've got the best player on the field in Braxton.
I'm always nervous...
Not nervous at all. Urban has a lot of experience preparing for teams a lot tougher than this scUM one. He and Herman will prepare to battle Mattison (Urbs old friend and neighbor from their Domer days) well crafted Meechigan D. I think he will use Hyde, and hopefully Smith, to ram the ball behind the stellar offense line. scUM d line can be pushed around as they have been by Bama, Braskie,Mee State ,and Northworsten. They can then unload when scUM starts to cheat up w/ TE and dink and dunk crossing routes. I think they also simplify the attack to use Braxton better. If Hyde, and hopefully Smith, become effective the long bomb begins to open up and Braxton read option stuff. Our D has made vast improvements but will be tested by their mobile QB and Duhnard. I think Shazier, Boren, Hank,Roby,Bino, and Simon will provide leadership that this game demands. They will put pressure on this new QB that he has not experienced yet. scUM does not have 325lb O-line like Wisky's. URB's has a much polished and healthy Special Teams to add to Meechigans grief. I sleepe well this week.

I am not nervous. However, I just hope our team is not over looking it. They seem to be convinced that the game is over before it has started.
Hell, I have been nervous about this game since about 4 games into the season! Have never felt it would be an easy game. It is going to take a super effort to come out with the victory IMHO.
Definitely nervous. Our defense got a much needed rest, but I'm concerned with what I saw out of the offense last week. I hope they pull it together and get clicking this weekend.
Michigan makes me nervous every year. Throw out the records when we play them, both teams will always play the other like there is no tomorrow (which is literal for us this year) - advantage OSU!
Even DickRod made me a little nervous (not so much, lol) but he didn't "get it". Hoke does. That makes UM dangerous regardless of record, fatness of coaches, or talent.
Count me in the very worried group. Skunk weasels new qb can throw the ball and run. At least with arm punt we could just stack the box and play man. Brax will likely see the same defense Wisky employed; hopefully their secondary is less able to cover our receivers.
Yea would rather have Robinson than Gardner @ QB
I am always nervous for this game. I am more nervous than others because I am a huge Buckeye fan that lives in Michigan and works for the state of Michigan.
if the coaches coach with their head out of their asses this week we should be fine. If they coach like they did last week it will be a long game.

You are not alone. Too many bad memories from the '90s have ensured i'll always be on edge for this game. Michigan has the inferior roster, there's no doubt. But these are still 18-23 year old kids playing. So nothing is certain.
Not at all, if drob isn't at QB for scUM they don't stand a chance. The backup hasn't show the ability to throw anything but the comeback route which I can see Roby jumping one or two since that seems to be scUM's whole passing game besides blown coverage.
I have watched nearly 50 of the games in this rivalry (since 1963), and the closer to kick off the more nervous I always get. I have watched enough of them to know that you can throw out all of what has happened to the two teams all season long. This game is always a slobber knocker.

Curious.....what evidence to support you're contention as to said state of mind can you share with us ? TIA

That is why it is called "The Game" which is so much more than a "game" it is a game within a game! It is having a Buckeye flag on my porch and staring at a Meatchicken flag on my neighbors! It is hearing a best friend I went to kindergarten with who lives across the street now brag everyday! Although I had the previous 8 thank you Coach Tress! Now I love watching our sons go at it the way we do! It isn't a game it's "The Game" which molds us defines our year 3 hrs of football gives us lifetime memories! Hence where did you watch game of century 2006!! What or where you when Bo passed away ? The Game defines who we are and it is a part of our daily lives ! Therefore yes I stay nervous and emotional about "The Game" I watched my 9 year old lay in the floor and cry last year and I remember the pain of 96 97! The tears taught life lessons to him respect your opponent and you don't always win and yes the NCAA or government isn't always fair! But I thought as I held him a tear came to my eye "Tradition is Passed" "The Game" he will always remember where he was the day he watched the Skunkweasels beat his beloved Buckeyes for the first time in his life! Go Bucks! OH!
Had regular game jitters, rivalry jitters. But since hearing the players expressing there thoughts through twitter and the press on playing in a bowl (especially a chance at a NCG) then I have to wonder how focused they really are. An I know, Urban a master at having his team ready, when was the last time he had to deal with scenario? And before u hate, I wouldn't want any other coach in nation right now in this scenario but nervous is fair to say.

If you are not nervous or at least anxious for The Game then you are not alive!!!! HAHA!!! I am not nervous....i would call it cautiously optomistic.
I am not worried about what i saw out of the offense last week. That will get corrected.....
Urban and our coaching staff will not allow this team to NOT be focused regardless of what players are tweeting or saying. Gardner will be starting at QB for the first time in this rivalry at The Shoe with 105K+ screaming like animals. Our defense will have their hands full but they are playing very well and will be up to the task....no doubt!!!
If we play our game, keep the D up and not giving away big plays......we will win this game.
Let's look at who scUM has played the last several weeks.........
Purdue - they beat them soundly but Purdue is terrible and we cannot compare our game against Purdue because anything and everything that could go wrong with that game did go against us and we stillwon
Illinois - awful...enough said
SParty - They had to scramble to kick a last second FG to beat them....only scoring 10 points. Our D as good as or better than Sparty's....
Nebraska - they lost....even with Denard in their they were not doing much...our defense is as good or better than Nebraska's
Minnesota - minnie is terrible....
Northwestern - Northwestern has given up 4th quarter leads all season.....and they needed a miracle catch to send the game into OT.
Iowa - they are god awful......no D
What did you see from them the last 2 weeks that has you worried? Northwestern outplay them and throw it away or a beat down of Iowa who is worse than Indiana.
We beat PSU and Wisconsin on the road. Sconsin hung 60+ on Indiana. Sconsin is playing their best football. Sconsin has lost to OSU,OSU,Neb...every game was close. We played flat after a bye week...it happens. Maybe we were looking a week ahead.
I think we are playing better defense. Shazier and Boren are both playing better. Maybe Bino will have a great game this weekend as well.
I am always nervous about this game but IMO we are the better team and its at home.
