Are you serious? He had either 5 or 7 offensive rebounds in the first half. Thad needs to play his playmakers even if they make some mistakes. Thad plays Scott and Thompson because they play safe ball we need ppl to make some plays. I really like what Ross did in the little time he got. Amir is a intimidation presence down low and it showed. He also look lost at times but that could be because lack of playing time. Let the kids play that will build confidence.
Wasn't there something in the boarding house some time back that said the staff really was disappointed in Amir because they really wanted him to hit the weights in the off season but he didn't?
I thought Amir looked great yesterday. Got his hands on a lot of boards, altered shots at the rim, and did a solid job on Plumlee in the half court. He definitely isn't a polished player yet, but I think he is going to be a very solid, important piece to this team.
He plays Scott and Thompson because they can defend. Ross is a good player but I don't see the desire to be a shut down defender yet. Basketball is a numbers game. If you win the turnover and rebounding battles you are going to have a good chance to win games. I love the fact that Matta plays his best defenders above his best scorers. Thomas being the exception, but not many people can score quite like him.
