Local scUM beat writer props up the SI article about Ohio State dominating the B1G next year. The reactions from the local fans is amusing and shows the fear factor that Urban has over their fan base already. Enjoy!
Said one delusional scUM fan "Don't expect to win in AA while the fat man is coaching here!"

Here is the best line:
"Angry Michigan fans throwing recruiting rankings at me. You’re better than that. Win the league on the field," he wrote. "Meyer has proven he can recruit a national title team. None of the other Big Ten coaches has. Not a complicated concept."
My cousin called me after Meyer was hired. He is one of the most levelheaded Michigan fans I know. He admitted the are screwed. He basically admitted everything the article by Staples and the AA News implies/states. Michigan is in trouble in general and not just by the hand of Meyer and the Buckeyes. MSU has owned them lately and teams like NW are clipping at their heals.
Michigan will be the next ND. They will have a BCS level team every 5 years.
Thanks for posting. The best laugh i got was reading the comments from the scUM fans after the article. One of them said something about "Ohio State was stacked to the rafters with talent this year from Tressel's recruits" I about fell out of my chair laughing. Sure Tress had some good classes, but we were thin and young at many spots. Is that why we had to move a TE to tackle, a fullback to linebacker and had to play a dozen true freshman! Sure we were loaded with talent!!
The whole country is telling Michigan and the rest of the B1G that Meyer is well on his way to building a monster and yet Michigan fans can't see it. They thought after their 11-2 season that they were back and Ohio State was going to trend down. Well, it is now becoming difficult for them to accept what they are, which is Ohio State's little brother.
Haha, Hes right thought. Brady Hoke is a less than .500 coach without Greg Mattison, and we all know Greg is the man running the show up there. When hes gone, they're in trouble. The other part that is so true is how the B10 is trying to win the Rose Bowl, and Urban has his sights set on a ring.
"Can't" seeing it....and "Won't" see it are two different things....scUM Fans are pretty scared right now...and for many people, denial is the first response to being scared.
"Your Mouth Keeps Signing Checks that Your Body Can't Cash"
Still not catching the ever-contagious WHINE-FLU!!!
Do Michigan fans remember this team was 6-7 the year before. Meyer with nearly the same roster went 12-0. We all agree the 2012 team is not loaded with high draft picks in its Junior and Senior classes. The strength of this roster is the '11 and the '12 classes.
I'm tired of scUm fans saying there wasn't any talent during the Rich Rod era.
2008 - 10th
2009 - 8th
2010 - 20th/ We were 28th
2011 - 21st
No talent my ass.
The typical Michigan University fan reminds me of Saddam Husseins advisors denying reports that Baghdad was falling AS they were ducking bombs and gun fire in the Gulf War. Same level of denial.
A few of my favorites:
First of all: it was a stupid article, almost self-admitted by Staples, that he is doing this more or less as a joke. We have no idea what Ohio State will look like next year--we don't know if Braxton Miller will stay eligible (though Gordon Gee is probably scared that Urban Meyer will fire him), we don't know what other players will get kicked out, suspended, injured, etc. It happens at all schools and on paper is not how championships are won.
But to claim that no other school is building a team to compete for a championship? Huh? That's just pure myth and nonsense. Rodriguez couldn't compete for the B10 championship even though he said he was trying to be national champion....Hoke and surely all other B10 teams are aiming to win championships--at least B10 and possibly national. But since only one team can do it--you don't make your whole worth based on that. You can have success other ways. I think Meyer will have mixed success there, but I can't see them dominating the way that Tressel did.
I know Meyer can cry to a championship like he did 2007/2008. Crying doesn't get anyone anywhere in the Big 10.
OSU belongs in the SEC. They are not compatable with the BIG schools. Wonder how many kids at OSU lose there scolly this year to make room for more thugs. Meyer cheated at Utah and Flordia......left the game for health reasons, my azz. He left to stay one step ahead of the NCAA.....He and Tressel are birds of a feather.
I completely agree about TOSU belonging in the SEC. We will need to have a tougher out of conference schedule to make it to the National Championship game because of the SEC biased. Luckly for us(TOSU) the BCS finally woke up making it a four team playoff, it will eliminate some of the trouble of making it in. A Big Ten team could go 12-0 and still have two SEC 11-1 or 10-2 teams ahead in the bullshit polls. GO BUCKS!
Lol some of those guys talk like the B1G is the best conference and Urb coaching in the SEC was him coaching in the MAC or something...
They also need to update themselves on recruiting. They are not #1 and are ranked behind us, with 0 play makers.
I read some of that. I don't know what people were thinking.
In what reality is a guy like Brady Hoke going to compete with a guy like Urban Meyer? I mean really? 2 national titles. BCS record, multiple SEC conference titles, verses......had a good year at Ball State. Its like comparing a honda accord to a testerosa. Sure the Accord is a good car but that doesn't make it a ferrari. Puh-Lease people.
"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
One sentiment echoed in several posts I agree with was that most of Tressel's teams were better that this one. It only reinforces the fact that the Big Ten is in a sad state of affairs. The worst news for the Weasels is that I see a succeedingly much stronger OSU teams in EVERY year for the foreseeable future.
