Read the new Anzalone daddy article by Sherman at ESPN.
He said he told his son to decommit to distance himself from Waugh and that influence.
He is also saying now that he does not hold OSU, Meyer or Vrabel accountable, they were not responsible for this perv and they may even reconsider OSU as a school to go to. He later again did not blame OSU.
Back tracking coward, I hope Meyer closes the door on the Anzalone's lock stock and barrel. Slam the door shut, and let Alex play for little boy U in Happy Valley, or GA lift scissor amusement park U in Notre Dame.
Maybe Dr. Anzalone can have Kelly get him up in a lift for practices, have some fun.
I hope OSU slams the door on any chance they may want to re open, just shut the door closed, end of story.
Now I am really confused as to why he decommitted.
Read it. His dad said he wanted to distance himself from Waugh.
He also wants to be there at all trips to monitor things, but he is not blaming OSU, Meyer or Fickell, and we still could end up with Anzalone.
We dodged a bullet, close the door on this unit and do not revisit. The dad is the typical meddling parent, who stories have not matched about OSU and his kid now for about a month. Almost everything he said today, and during the commitment and post visit do not match up, lots of misspeak, or to be honest, lies to cover his tracks. We dodged a bullet, be glad.

I read it. He is obviously pissed. But, besides Waugh, who exactly is he pissed at? He directly said that it is not Ohio State's fault, and he does not blame Meyer or Fickell. He sounds irrational.
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
His stories have not matched about the past week, and their statements after the spring game visit and commit.
He probably realized what a buffoon he made out of himself, as a "supposed" professional saying something is wrong at OSU.
Something is wrong a lot of places, most bars are full of dregs from all walks of society, if the good Dr. Feel Good Anzalone thinks you can avoid perv's and weirdos in public and more specific bars, maybe he needs to see a Dr.
Move on from this mess of a family unit, again, we dodged a big bullet here with the meddling dad.
Clearly he is backtracking from his statement in the local paper where not only did he blame the University and staff, but he insinuated there is a fundamental problem. That is unforgivable.
I do not endorse fans causing prolems for recruits and families. But he deliberately tried to hurt our program. Therefore I will not feel sorry for him for any repercussions that come their way.
The bridge is burned. Anzalone should be completely off the list. If he decides to come back, he will be my least favorite recruit. I'm not worried though. I don't think they are that stupid.
I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters.

From someone who works with parents of high school kids all day, I can assure you that parents get completely irrational without reason, ALL THE TIME. This sounds like one of them. Just because they are adults doesnt mean they dont make emotional decisions without considering the facts. This sounds like one of them.
Frankly, this Dad sounds like he just wants somebody to pay for a mistake. I guess he has never made a mistake before, good for him. Good luck to his son where ever he goes. And good luck to that coaching staff who is going to be held up to IMPOSSIBLE expectations to keep his kid from anybody will ill intentions.
