Dr. Anazalone is just a concerned parent, his reaction is what most fathers would have been. If my son committed to a school, and this would have happened, I would question why this perv is on campus or why did he have access to recruits (close enough to take pics). Especially since the Penn St. stories hit the news, I'll never tar and feather a dad who has concerns when there is a sicko that had access to the students. I LOVE Ohio State, Im from Ohio but if my son was not knowingly took pics wit a perv, Im gonna ask questions and raise concerns. Dr. Anazalone first reaction was anger as any parent then after he cooled down, heard the facts he reasoned the situation. The enemy isnt a concern father, the enemy is the perv (remember him?) So the notion of screw you Dr. Anazalone is unrealistic, thats why Meyer is still talking with him. Besides how would that look if Meyer just shut the door to a concerned parent? What message would that send to the parents of all recruits?? Thank goodness greater minds are at work (Meyer and Staff) and not emotional bigots!
Waugh is being dealt with...
The dad took a shot at OSU...
Anyone seriously wondering how any free citizen can take a photo with a student athlete is ridiculously ignorant.
I can forgive a concerned parent. I cannot forgive someone who publicly trashes my school. If he wants forgiveness he can apologize. Until he does, we have to assume he is standing by his statements. Therefore there is absolutely nothing wrong with any ill feelings toward him.
I don't want that guy or his kid in Columbus. Lets just part ways at this point.

+1, also i really like that Asian chick.
I piss excellence.
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
I intercepted this text sent from Alex Anzalone to his Dad during his recruiting trip to Columbus:
"Hey Dad, it's me. Any chance you could overnight some diapers to me in Columbus? Also, could you send my commemorative Doogie Howser sippy cup as well?"
His dad says he cannot be everywhere, well neither can the coaches when you have all the players families in, recruits in and there were 80,000 at the game.
Again, his mom was there and post release from stadium events, she was technically his supervision if you will.
This all makes Anzalone's dad statements that much more cowardly and unprofessional, and it shows they took a gutless way out of OSU.
I will say it again, OSU dodged a bullet with this dad and his handling of his kid as a recruit, could have been a 4 year headache. to Meyer.
I am a die hard Ohio State fan but I have a bad feeling about these threads. Our fans are ripping this kid's family for speaking negatively about Ohio State because their son was caught in a photo with a perv. The original article obviously came out when the father was still fuming about the situation as would nearly all of us on this board if it were our child. Seventeen or ten it does not matter it is his child, having a child grow up is tough there is naturally separation anxiety. As a teacher I see far too many situations where the parents do not care. I have no problem with his father. The second article cam out at a later date when his father clearly had more time to digest the situation and his comments were much more rational. Like all people the more time you have the more thinking you do, the truer the comments become. Instead of ripping him for backtracking why not commend him for getting the truth out. I like the ESPN article because it is much more calm and correct about the whole situation. We should be satisfied with the fact that the ESPN article came out at a later date when the father was able to speak logically instead of emotionally.
This was simply an unfortunate situation but the more we fans rip and belittle this child and his family the more we alienate future recruits. We should simply accept this for what it is, a bad situation where the only person to blame is Waugh. I can honestly say as a father I do not know how I would have reacted but I can predict many on this board and many in society would have reacted in a similar way to Dr. Anzalone. I see it every day as a teacher and a baseball umpire. It is easy to criticize someone else when we are not the one in the situation.
So my plea is for everyone to relax, be supportive of Anzalone and his family. He may still come to Ohio State but he is human and was completely spooked by a perv approaching him. That is not abnormal. What we as fans need to ensure is that we do not become another source of spooking recruits with our venom towards anything that has even the slightest negative connotation towards Ohio State. When we act like this we are essentially having the same effect as Waugh, we are scaring recruits. Our recruits need to know that they will be afforded the ability to make a mistake or a bad decision and not be made a pariah for doing so.
Some of you on this board will agree with my post. Some will agree with parts and disagree with other parts. Some will completely tear me apart, rip my post to shreds and down vote me repeatedly, you my friends are the one's who simply do not get it.

what is your opinion? It is not clear. Ha ha. I value your opinion as you and jbook seem to have a lot of good info. Thanks.
..pay forward ........................................he made them pay...............................he'll make them pay again and again
Listen, this guy is a parent, but he is also a professional. They said they were digesting this for a week.
Fine, decommit and say we are parting ways and that is it.
His mom was at the spring game and obviously okayed him going out with other kids.
He made damaging comments about a school I am an alumni from, and he implicated coaches and others who simply cannot be everywhere at once.
OSU's coaches go home at night to their families, maybe the good Dr. forgot that.
His public statements were knee jerk/shot gun approaches, you would think someone with his educational back ground could have handled it more polished.
Read the comments someone posted, people are laughing at his dad's handling of this. You reap what you sow.
