When you watch two major SEC teams play, it looks almost like the NFL.. I do not know if any conference is going to be able to catch up with the SEC.. There has been a major population shift in this country over the last couple decades, where more and more people are moving out of the midwest and going down south..Also, lets be honest here, the majority of the top college football prospects today are african-american correct?? Where is the largest populations of African-Americans in this country?? you got it, the South..Simply put, the South has a bigger population of athletes to recruit from..Look at what Urban has done since he became head coach here...He has made it a priority to recruit in more southern states, such as Tenn, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida,South Carolina...etc...Mix that with the top recruits from Ohio, and you have a recipe for Championships...Go Bucks
You drank the cool aid. The SEC didn't look like a professional team when they were playing towsend or Louisianna Monroe or lafayette. The only team that had a somewhat tough schedule was Florida. The other's played no one and then dropped one game against each other. This year the SEC rode their reputation. I don't think the team we had this year loses to anyone. They had that kind of fight in them.
My sentiments exactly... Good ole Brent hit his ceiling at Wisky... Everyone is pointing at his three straight Rose Bowl appearances as the reason that he is a good hire for a SEC team. Brent knows he is at the end of the road at Wisky as far as perception is concerned. He can't get the talent he needs regularly up there ( Russell Wilson was a miracle for Wisky last year, O'Brien not so much). Who knows if not for Tressels fallout last year if OSU wouldn't have won the Leades last year and this year Wisky's Rose Bowl appearance is a fluke. He knows it and knows his image is as high as it will ever be. He can get better talent at Arkansas but just doesn't carry the brand to carry Arkansas over LSU or Saban. Maybe if Saban leaves Brent can make a bit more of a name for him in Fayatteville otherwise this is purely a money grab and why not? He hit his ceiling in the Big, someone is going to pay him more in the SEC and in either case his image was only going to go down hill regardless where he is at, so why not take the money when this was the year he could. As dumb as he looks, he may not be that dumb... Ok strike that last comment.
I said "almost" looked like the NFL, due to size and speed ratio...Also, the whole country has had that cool aid forced down their throats like it or not...
he wouldn't let his players pose in the Playboy All-American magazine edition, he said, "Cause you can't play football with an erection."
That's some bad math right there. tOSU, scUM, PSU and UN are not only better jobs, but better by a margin that is tough to measure. Don't let one game fool you. Wisky is far from an attractive job to hot Coaches around the Country.
After the big 4, that is where you look at jobs like Wisky, MSU, IL. With pay being equal, I am not sure there is much difference. Why does anyone think Wisky is an attractive job? They are one bad hire away from being Minny. So at BEST, Wisky is the 5th best job but could easily be anywhere between the 5th and 7th best job in this league. The BIG has a huge drop off after the top 4 and Wisky is nowhere near those top 4 programs.
Arkansas would not be one of the top 4 jobs in the BIG right now either. That said, Arky is a better job than Wisky imo.
