To the Michigan lover this one is really hard to believe and take as a coincidence! The Michigan football team came to Columbus and stayed near a hotel near the Ohio State Campus....it was Friday November 19th 1982.....they were to play the Buckeyes the next day in the Shoe at noon......sometime during that evening right outside the hotel a main water main burst....this put the hotel during later Friday night and Saturday morning wiht out water for showers, dining, and drinking, flushing toilets, etc....a major incovienence.....the next day the Buckeyes won the game 24-14.......forward ahead 2 years to November 16, 1984...the Wolverines came to town to play in the Shoe the next day and stayed at the same hotel....and bingo---on that Friday, again a main water main burst right outside the hotel, the same one that scUM had stayed in in 1982...and again the Maize and Blue were without water for Friday night and Saturday for showers, dining, drinking and flushing toilets..again a major hastle...and oh yes, on Saturday the Buckeyes won again, this time 21-6. This time Bo Schemblechler swore that " they had been sabatoged" needeless to say he selected a different hotel on their next visit. 2 years later ..this time(1986) no water main break and a Buckeye loss 26-24......sabatoged? your guess is as good as mine....would we do that....ha ha...

Actually remember that as I was living in the campus area and I had no water then also...
I was a student at OSU at the time and was at both games. I was wondering what that foul smell was and now I know. The strange thing is that I smell the same horrible smell evertime they visit the shoe..
Awesome story. Personally I think the hotel staff should make sure that every player gets a nice chocolate on their pillow(of course id substitute ex lax for chocolate).
Since the plumbing didn't work, it was confirmed that the Michigan players were so much slower the next day because they were DEFinitely FULL OF $HIT.
