(Bell and Elliot) Do I want to play for a team where we'll likely lose at least 25% or more of our games and have little to no chance to play for a NC....OR...Do I want to go to a University that will probably win 99% of their games, get lots of media coverage and play for National Championships? To me, the answer is simple. I HATE TO LOSE...so there is only one answer. The Ohio State University!
Simple answer yes,
BUT the choice isn't that that easy. Leaving childhood favorite, family being around at games, homesick.
I honestly believe it is not every recruits goal is to win a NC, I also truly believe they'd never admit it. Many want to SHINE, increase their draft status, or be BIG fish little pond, instead of small fish BIG pond.
Would some guys absolutely play just special teams to win a NC and be ecstatic, YES, but I bet there are just as many that would rather play all 4 years and personally have a great career over winning a NC. If they can be the "man" at Maryland etc..they just may go there.
...and if you feel lucky today.
For me, the answer is easy.
Come on...I'm not so dense as to think there aren't kids out there that actually want to get a degree, or will have a problem leaving mom and dad, or succumb to the pressure of playing for their in state school. I'm simply saying, if you're splitting hairs and you are truly torn between two schools...the answer may be easier than you think.

Hell, Missouri's coach is likely not going to be there much longer, he''s a 500 coach in conference play and I don't mean the SEC where he got his ass kicked Big Time.As far as Vonn Bell, would you rather play for Urban Meyer or Butch Jones? Hell, Jones was Tennecheat's 7th choice.
Couldn't agree more. There are other factors at work.
It's not salty to say that Maryland, Mizzou, and Louisville are not going to compete for NC. In fact, I think they would admit from a strictly football perspective, the programs are inferior. However, there is more to their decision and I am always of the belief the player would not have been as happy here, so better off for them to be somewhere else.
Do people think that pointing this out will change their mindset? They have to live with their decision. I wish them the best. Hopefully they have a fondness for TOSU and will continue to root for us as I believe we are on the path to playing for NCs.
