LOL. Michiganfan thinks they're sticking it to us by saying "we're playing on Jan 1 -- have fun watching us!!!" without realizing how great that game is going to be for Buckeye fans.
It has nothing to do with ESPN. I said I am rooting for all B1G teams except for Michigan because it benefit's Ohio State. The fact that ESPN and other writers and poll voters would have to eat crow is a bonus.
Stanford shut down a way better offense in Oregon and USC... no way Nebraska can muster up enough points to beat them. Nebraska was getting dominated by a similar style team in Wisconsin before they made a huge comeback. Stanford is one the top 5 teams in the country imo... They roll through Nebraska or Wisconsin. I don't care that Stanford has been built for more power related teams... Nebraska isn't half the team Oregon is offensively and defensively. And Yes, Oregon is much better defensively than they have been. They played great defense against Stanford who just dropped a bomb on another good team in UCLA. The same UCLA that beat Nebraska in a close game.
I dont mind the match ups of Neb vs Stan, Mich vs UGA or Wisc vs Miss St. will be interesting to see how the B1G fares. I think they all have a shot.
I do not like Oka St vs MSU, TT vs Minn, NW vs SC.
and who cares about Purdue vs Iowa St! haha
Don't care, we have been carrying this conference for 10 years. I once cared, but the rest of the conference still in the 90's as far as evaluating talent.
I'm making this up as I go along.
I'll root for NW and NB....I would have rooted for MSU at one time, but I am sick of their whining ....could care less about the rest of the B1G....bottom line, I look at the B1G just like i look at the US with the United Nations..

As long as the BCS system, to inlcude the 2014 playoff, relies on polls, yes I care how the other teams in the BIG do in the bowls. Not because I have some love affair with them, but because the strength of the conference has a direct effect on OSU's chances of being in the top 4. Until it is a 4 - 8 team playoff (depending on the remaining major conferences left after all the swapping) with only conference champions allowed in, I will root like hell for everyone in our conference but TTUN. Not that who I root for has any bearing on the outcome, but I have to hope for what's best for tOSU. Wouldn't it be nice if a one loss tOSU team beat out a Pac 12/SEC team because of the strength of the conference?
I love Tressel and stick up for him in every post I read on here bashing him, but I don't really care if a fan base is critical of him. tOSU fans would do the same if it was another team and another coach. I am sure Coach Tress does not care what some BFE middle America fan of ND or Purdon't thinks of him.
As an aside, and totally off topic, what Coach Tressel did was wrong, but tatoos...really. Next time you watch a SEC game, or any game for that matter, look at all the tats. I am sure all of this "kids" paid full price for the thousands of dollars of ink crawling up and down their arms.
By the way jbook...I always enjoy reading your posts, especially the recruiting updates. Keep up the good (volunteer) work!
