I have to post this as i have been in a heated debate with some clown for a month about this. He continues to hammer how Stauskas is shooting 48% beyond the arc as a frosh and how he can shoot from any angle or off the dribble. Unlike Diebler who he claims was solely a spot up and shoot guy. My argument is simple: Become the best 3 pt shooter in Big Ten history and then talk. He seems to think this kid is going to be more JJ Reddick-ish and will blow Diebler away. Your thoughts???
Diebler is the better pure shooter - Stauskas is the better overall player.

Comparing freshmen years the scum kid is further ahead. See what happens in the next couple of years when they lose Burke and Hardaway and he has to carry much of the scoring load by himelf. Defenses will be able to tighten up on him when that happens.
Good days, bad days --- always a Buckeye. Time to begin the assault on the 2014 BCS National Championship
Diebler could put it on the floor well enough to create a shot if it was needed, it just wasn't asked of him in the offense. During his time he had Koufus, Mullins and Sully as centers ( all 1st rounders) so the offense worked the ball inside and back out to shooters. Not to mention a few years playing beside Turner.
Diebler also took a lot of smart shots and made the extra pass often. He could of put up even more shots than he did.
Diebler was limited athletically. He could not create his own shot. He needed screens. But the guy was absolute money after his freshman year. His first year here he was aweful in comparison. Great player for college. I appreciated his time here.

He is the all time scoring leader in Ohio high school history. He isn't great at creating his own shot, but was capable. Yes, high school is lesser competition, but that is still a tremendous accomplishment.
Stauskus shoots 58% at home...he is the better shooter as a freshman....lets let it play out for a minute to see. That being said its unfair really as Diebler was a MAC player at best...

We didn't call him "Threebler" for nothing.
Stauskus reminds me a lot of Redick. He has been deadly from day 1 and he is very cocky. We are going to HATE him by the time his 4 years are up.
Diebler is playing in Turkey for Karsiyaka. Here are 3 highlights from his teams games this season.
http://www.eurobasket.com/VideoView.asp?video=17109 Diebler 24 pts 4 boards 1 assist (W) 6-8 from 3
http://www.eurobasket.com/VideoView.asp?video=16737 Diebler 9 pts 5 boards 1 assist (L) 3-6 from 3
http://www.eurobasket.com/VideoView.asp?video=16223 Diebler 25 pts 3 boards 2 assists (W) 6-9 from 3
that's 15-23 from 3 in these 3 games. Sounds pretty damn good to me. I'll take Diebler over that other cocky bitch any day of the week and twice on Sunday thru Monday. Diebler isn't great defensively, but he got better every year. Would love to have that 3 point shot now.

north till ya smell it, west till ya step in it.
You got that right. If you put Diebler on this team, OSU has AT MOST 1 loss this season. He would radically change the team's offense by spreading the floor and absolutely punishing anyone who attempted to double inside.
Cavs....you were wrong man...it never gets old.....still plenty of noobs to go for.....
It seems pretty silly to be having this conversation at this point in Stauskas' career. Diebler hit 116 and 114 three pointers in his last two years at Ohio State. Redick hit 121 and 129 his last two years. (he only hit more than 40% his last two years, when he hit 40% and 42%) Stauskas has 59 made 3's this year.
Stauskas is definitely an excellent 3-point shooter, especially based on pure percentage. But as you shoot more attempts, you end up shooting more contested shots, and your percentage goes down. Stauskas may take fewer shots and remain a high percentage guy, or he may end up like Redick and Diebler and have to become more of a scorer and take more shots and have a lower percentage.
And according to NCAA's website, Stauskas isn't among the 3 point percentage leaders, probably because he doesn't have enough attempts per game.
Come on man. You're better then that.
J , it was comedy gold....I'll never forget the threads on him being a MAC player. Cavs and I just had a field day. People were killing me back then....
Oh wait...ya'll thought I thought he was a MAC Player? Pffffffffft....

Sarah sorry about the Herpes.
Stauskus to Reddick or Diebler, please.
The last few games againt tough perimeter defenses, where he does not get kick outs from Burke or shots from weak OOC zones defenses, he has struggled to get a shot or points against most teams lately.
Wisconsin erased him easily, as did OSU when they had a guy like Thompson in his grill, game 1 in Columbus he did nothing.
Watch MSU just smother and erase both Burke and Staukus tomorrow night in East Lansing, they got 5/6 deep with guards and athletic wings that will get in their hip pockets and get physical with them.
My bad bruh!
