I haven't seen anything that his date has been pushed from tomorrow. People around here aren't too optimistic. Anybody see anything new?
I was wondering the same thing last night. I found a thread on the recruiting board about him. Still expected to announce tomorrow. Odds are he picks Virginia. But I'm not so quick to count out Urban....
He is going to Virginia. Sorry for the spoiler.

I see osu in his decision making I give the edge the OS.
Why in the hell would anyone worth a damn at football go to Virginia? Just like I questioned everyone saying Clark to Florida and Bell to Tennessee. He even said in his interview he is picking for himself not everyone else...that tells me OSU has a chance. Who is giving him pressure to go to OSU? H may pick Virginia but he better realize what he is doing if he wants a future in football. H might make a bowl game 2-3 times at Virginia and is not winning a conference title nor a NC.
I still think we have reasonable shot.
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
According to this mornings Richmond Times-Dispatch, looks like UVA.
I'm surprised that he wants top recruits to redshirt. Don't think he will land too many more if this is his plan going forward.
London said earlier this month that his ultimate goal is to redshirt his top prospects, giving them an extra year in the weight room instead of having to play them over the current juniors and seniors.
“You would hope you get to the point, eventually, that they can sit, and (strength and conditioning coach) Evan Marcus can have them for a year,” London said. “I would say we’re not quite at that point where we have the luxury to do that, but we’re moving in that direction.”

He's not going to pick Ohio State without making a visit.
Yeah I would def say he is staying home after reading that article. I don't think they couldve put some of that info in the article without knowing something.

Sounds like UVA, time to move on folks.... but, if he did visit for a game in the fall, Urban will flip him to the good guys!
See that weird tint clouding your vision. Yeah, go ahead and remove those scarlet and gray glasses for a second.
Virginia is his hometown school. He has family that goes there and a lot of friends. Mike London is building one heck of a program down there. He pulled some solid recruits in last year (see Smoke Mizzel) and is making a major impression on the top ones in Va this year.
So why would he choose UVA? Cause above and maybe also for the reason that they are Student-Athletes and UVA is one hell of a school.
Virginia sucks at Football...I'm not taking shit off. OSU and other schools on his list are very good academically. What is his major gonna be? I hate to tell people this but OSU is rated higher than Virginia at certain majors...If he is gonna be a general studies or other B.S. major why does academic prowess mean anything...
I would want my cake and eat it too...I hate to say this but I don't want recruits that are afraid of competition.
He will not make a BCS game, win a conference championship, win a NC, or be coached as well at VA...scarlt and gray glasses or not.
Sorry dude, but your scarlet and grey glasses are CLEARLY on. I'm a huge OSU fan, but.......
CR2011 had it right..... Virginia is a good school, and a degree there will not hurt him at all. And there are many things more important to some than winning trophys that sit on a shelf (unlike many of us fans), like family, and friends to a lesser degree. Staying near home and being a leader on and off the field can be VERY rewarding to many players. And he will be set for life after his career, but in Virginia instead of the OSU community.
And if you think playing for Virginia is going to hurt his chances in the NFL you are very wrong. The NFL doesn't care where you played. The care IF you can perform. This kid is not afraid of competition. This kid is a STUD, and he will be drafted very high some day barring injuries, even though he didn't play for OSU. JMHO.......
Listen I completely understand from our point of view why wouldn't you pick Ohio State. I mean we love it. But think about this kid...
He is from Virginia. Has a lot of friends and family that go to Virginia. They have a young, energetic coach who is starting to recruit well. He is a charismatic and intelligent young man who wants to lead other recruits there. UVA is an amazing school. Is Ohio State and UNC...absolutely.
You want to know the hardest factor to sell recruits on. Distance. It's tough on a kid.
From our point of view, it's a no brainer...Ohio State. But too him, his priorities are different and his home is different. Not everyone is an idiot for holding different things higher.
4-8, 8-4, 4-8. That's one heck of a program. Everything else you said is true though. I don't see why people think it's so insane for guys to go to their home school.
London is building. He had a solid recruiting effort the past couple years and is an up and coming coach. Is UVA going to be a powerhouse ever? Probably not. But they're big reasons for Blanding to choose UVA.
