I believe the Browns Backers are the largest such organization associated with NFL clubs. My brother is an officer of a BB club in Colorado. I was born in 1956, so I have early memories of Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly, and Ernie Green at old Municipal Stadium. I remain a diehard Browns and Indians fan. As for Nick Saban, my daughter (University of Alabama '10) would probably turn in her Browns fan credentials if he left Tuscaloosa for Cleveland.
Family Alma Maters: USF '80, CSU '80, University of Alabama '10, Ohio State University '13
Browns fan, Indians fan, Cav's fan........obviously not a fair weather fan.
Browns fan here as well
Bill O'Brien's name has surfaced.
No doubt, till I die and they spread my ashes over Browns Stadium, Jacobs Field, and the old site of the Coliseum.
Saw a kid the other day wearing a LBJ jersey, Patriots Jacket, and a Yankees hat. Its a different sports world for the fans these days.
I was 6 when my hero Frank Ryan and the Browns shut out Unitas and the Colts for the last Cleveland championship in anything. Still waiting for another...
Joe Banner is a Denison grad (1975). He is a tiny man--can't be over 5'5", 150 lbs. He announced our football games and had a sports talk show on the school radio station before they were common. He arranged a box for a bunch of us for the Chiefs game, and spent some time with us on the field before the game. He made it very clear changes are coming.
Then why could no previous Browns GM pick players who could come in and contribute? The rosters were just as crappy then. Our top draft picks are on the field and playing well (instead of just being on the field to justify their salaries) and late picks/undrafted free agents are contributing. That is all Heckert. Any NFL writers or GMs you listen to will tell you the same thing.

Props to Haslem for cleaning house. This team is not any better than when Holmgren took over.
Cleveland Orchestra Baby!! World's greatest!! The Brown's wet dream is to be them. The Ohio State University-Where the Illibuck Lives!
I do not want to see Heckert go. He is putting together some talent. That is something none of the previous GMs have done consistently.
National President of the Sky is NOT Falling Club
It is actually better because there is certainly more talent on the roster than before Heckert.
Perhaps defensively, but offensively this team is a mess. The OL is a wreck. Joe Thomas gets by on reputation, but he did not wrap himself in glory. Weeden needed to look good this year. Younger players Luck, RGIII, and Wilson have all looked better. Being solid or above average won't do. You need a player to build around. Who is there in this draft? It's great to have a top RB, but even a team like the Vikings have the best RB and they are struggling to just make the playoffs.
You need a franchise QB and ultimately this team is no closer than before. Holmgren's biggest failure was not offering as much as it takes to get RGIII. A player like that will attract FAs. There are no elite QBs in this years draft. The following years is uncertain. Again the Browns are back to rebuilding, which will take at least a couple more years. I don't see a team that is any closer than before Holmgren. It's a tall order for Haslem.
at least puts fans in the stands an interest around ohio. Went to my first Browns game in '68..Nelson replaced Ryan and Browns ran off 8 in a row..lost to the Colts to go to Super Bowl. I think I heard my first curse words at that browns game.

How much money and control over the organization will it take for the Browns to land Saban?
We've had 13 years of misery, alot of unknown college coaches and coordinators as our head coach. We've had one playoff game in that time period. Why the hell would we want another college coach coaching our browns. Saban hasnt proven a dam thing in the NFL. And if I hear another Miami Dolphin story about Saban didn't get Drew Brees, im going to throw up. We deserve a head coach with some NFL coaching experience to lead this team. Browns fans are tired of seeing if a college coach or a coordinator can do the job. Im done with that shit. Bring on the Cowhers, Hasletts, Reeds, Grudens, and any other candidate that has been a NFL head coach. I'm 47 years old and would like to see my Brownies in the Super Bowl before I die. Go Browns and fuck the Steelers.
