Calipari got the Harrison twins who are both ranked top 5 overall in the nation to commit to Kentucky over Maryland.
Seeing OSU beating Kentucky anytime in the NCAA is unfortunately looking more and more bleak.
You could probably say the same thing about UK beating tOSU in football. We are a football school they are a basketball school. Its tough to be the best at both and if you have ever been to Lexington or the state of KY you would know they are all about the round ball. Best fans, best tradition, best coach = championship program. I hate them but they're good.
I know but Thad has got us to be somewhat a hoops school with the top recruiting rankings and the deep tournament runs.
Hell we are a top 5 team this year. I was hoping Thad would get at least one title. Not happening while cal is here though.
What's the over/under on the amount of time until Cal's record is taken off the books??
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
Between Calipari and Saban I don't know whos a dirtier recruiter.
You truly believe that NOBODY else will win a title in college hoops as long as Calipari the crook is the head coach at Kentucky? Wow. If that is the case, then I have some beach front property in Arizona that you may be interested in.
Maybe so, but if they do meet up, it's one game, one chance in the madness of March. there will also be ample opportunities for either team to get upset before they could play...Hey I'm justbtrying to make myself feel better!! Lol
Yeah but I wonder if they'll have cap space left to sign anyone else?
As good as the Harrison brothers are, I don't think they're going to step in and dominate (wasn't Austin Rivers a super prospect as well?) in part because of their height.
Here's a list of guys shorter than 6'7" who were top ten ranked players
2011 - Bradley Beal, Austin Rivers, Marquise Teague
2010 - Josh Selby, Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knight, Cory Joseph
2009 - John Wall, Avery Bradley, Michael Snaer
2008 - Jrue Holiday, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Scotty Hopson, Willie Warren
2007 - Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo
Of that list, really only Wall was a consensus all-american type player. There were some excellent players, but not guys who automatically make their team a national championship contender. The highly ranked tall athletic guys like Durant, Anthony Davis, and Blake Griffin are a lot more likely to dominate the game than 6'4" guards, no matter how talented.
That's a great post!
Yeah, Calipari is bringing a gun to a fist fight. The question becomes what are we willing to do about it?
Nothing we can do. Nothing anyone can do.
Calipari has the NBA/agent connections that recruits love. Placing all those guys in the first round of the draft also helps.
He has created an AAU mentality at Kentucky.
Wow I might be the only one but give me an experienced Craft and Thomas over these 2 one and dones every day of the week, every week, all year.
Did California fall off the map?
They never took Wooden's record off the books even though everyone knows they bought all those titles.
"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
This years team has a chance to be really good. Think we would beat Kentucky this year.....
2 - 3 years after he leaves. Like Petey, he will know when to get out.
I smell a double or nothing bet coming on. You take UK and I take the field. I bet UK does not win the title this year. What say you?
BTW, when are we gonna meet up and have those beers? I believe I am owed some libations.

Then the evidence must've been overwhelming to bring down the banners then, right? Yeah, UCLA basketball during their dynasty era was a really tough sell I'm sure so clearly they needed outside influences to attract players. Don't be dumb.
But there aren't any beaches in Arizona?
Here is one way he recruits so well. Basketball players get their own dorm with personal chef. Oh yeah, a few other regular students get to stay their too,
John Calipari gave a video tour of Kentucky's new housing for the basketball team at the Wildcat Coal Lodge. It's incredibly luxurious.
