This is a question that has long bothered me. It is just one of those lingering thoughts I can't shake and I can never find the answer. Say if one of us became hugely famous, had millions upon millions of dollars, and obviously we still love our Buckeyes... We could/would donate large amounts of money to the school and score sideline passes and all of that... But what are the NCAA rules for that? You hear about Lebron texting Braxton, or I remember Will Ferrel with USC players, in their locker room and stuff... Lebron has admitted his love for tOSU... Could he talk to a recruit??
What are the rules on that?? Could you hang with the players? Or a recruit? High five them on the sidelines? Invite them out? Im not saying give them money or pay for anything... strictly interacting. Any answer would be helpful..
Interaction isn't a violation. Money, cars, houses, clothes, food anything that is considered a extra benifit is. If lebron talks to recruits during a recruting function that's fine if he comes in doing his best Oprah impression then no he should stay away.
So you could talk to them all you want, and even hang out with them? Just don't pay for their shit. Guess that makes sense.
Yea the interaction isn't a violation but like if he took them out for food or a concert or a game then that's a violation. Absolutely no money can be involved with the interaction and technically he can't say anything to him on social networking sites but they seem to brush those under the rug.
Thank you for clearing that up. That whole no social networking thing is pretty dumb, at least the NCAA is smart enough to ignore that.
Lebron is a fake buckeye. Waring miami hat to the football game? You wouldnt catch me waring anything buy buckeye gear. Im glad he gets boo'd
Tell us how you really feel about it...
