I prefer thinner crust, a decent amount of tomato sauce, and a little bit of cheese sprinkled on. I hate greasy pizza, though.
We may have lost the battle......but not the war.
This thread isn't for you then.
Sarah sorry about the Herpes.
Marion's Pizza in Dayton, Ohio. Love those rabbit turd sausages.
NY Pizza when I am out and about.
Chicago pizza when I go to dinner.
Yes, there is a difference.
NYC over Chicago, no question in my book. Can't do this in Chicago. Extra bonus if you can find a good piece of sausage to wrap.
As a drinker I will say pre night out Sicilian. Post night NY. works wonders.
I have been stuck on this f***ing island (Manhattan) for 15 years. Somebody! Anybody, give me one slice better than a Geno's East sausage pizza. Grimaldi's. joe's. lombardi's. anything? I'll run there to try it right now.
I agree with this. Both totally different. I grew up in northern Jersey and on NY style Pizza. I refuse to choose because I love both.
BBucks and RT wanna be
For my money, pizza you can fold and pizza you need a knife and fork to eat are neither really pizza. Best I've ever had (as a region) was from right here. Our pizza is somewhere in the middle of the 2 big city styles.
When I lived in C-bus, used to love me some Rotollos. Who knows now, another generation owns it and they hire help now (used to be all family).
They sold out. Not the same. Tommy's is still the best pizza I've ever had
New York hands down!!! I love a good Chicago Style Deep Dish, but if I had a choice I would rather be enjoying a slice in New York. After all I was born there. Dad went to Jackson Heights with Bob Cousy. Even though I loved Walt Frazier I was also a huge John Havlicek fan. Because of Hondo, I was also a Buckeye Fan living in New York. Then when my father transfer-ed to Columbus, Ohio in 1970 and obtained season tickets to all OSU Football and basketball games the tree was planted. Also Paul Warfileld was also one of my favorite players, and another was John Brockington.
Buckeye Fan Since 1970!!!
Lol.. You can see the grease soaking thru that thin crap.. Deep dish all the way..
Love them both but if I just wanted a slice, then NY all the way. If I wanted a meal, then Chicago style. If it is 2am and the beers have made me hungry, NY. If it is 4pm and a pitcher of beer is on the table, Chicago.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
This guy gets it. Very well said
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
I'll take either. The two best options near the Toledo area are 5th street Pub in Perrysburg that has a brick oven. The other is Pizzapopalis which is a Chicago style. I tend to favor the Chicago. Only downfall is the length of time it takes to wait for a deep dish.
I love both but if I had to choose one I would probably pick NY style. On another note if anyone makes it to Rome Italy go to a little neighborhood called Trastaverie (sp?). And a joint called Dar Poeta serves up some of the best pies you'll ever have, it's an experience, try the pizza rustica and thank me later.
Jo-Jo's on Monroe at Secor is really good, too.
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
