Yes, like I mentioned in a post on the last page, I was rather intoxicated while watching the game on Saturday and the same when I wrote the original post. I didn't realize how bad he played until I re-watched it yesterday morning. He's a 'great hitter' not tackler. You will not see many good form tackles from Bryant, as he is too often going for the knockout blow.

Christian Bryant is an extremely active player in our defense and has a nose for the football, this is undeniable. Does he make mistakes? Absolutely. He has committed some stupid penalties, he's not perfect in coverage and he has some missed tackles. Compared to the player he was a year ago, however, I think he has improved in all of those areas and will continue to do so as his career at Ohio State moves forward. The only objective measures of how well he's played this year are statistics and grade outs, he's excelled in both areas. I will take the word of the coaches of the word of Bax and others posting on this topic.
I concur with above.poster that Barnett really has not looked the same since his injury (though we had only seen a little bit before he for hurt). All the vitriol towards Bryant but CJ has been underwhelming too.
These guys were not great in our traditional defensive scheme last year. The transition to more quarters coverage has obviously put them in an even more difficult position. Maybe next year we will see what they are made of. Expecting a true frosh (even a very talented Bell) to come in and start is, likely, unrealistic. A vital part in how far we go next year is CB and CJ's development.

Fair rebuttal. Although I CANNOT agree with the thought he's excelled in every area because his coverage skills are SERIOUSLY lacking. But, I can't argue with stats...ESPECIALLY since they don't keep track of missed tackles. But, for the sake of healthy debate, did you ever find outgrow many of his 62 are ATKs.
