Just received from Ohio State:
"Ohio State University sophomore linebacker Connor Crowell, from Waldorf, Md., and North Point High School, and freshman offensive lineman Joey O’Connor, from Windsor (Colo.) High School, will no longer play football for the Buckeyes. Crowell, who has had two surgeries while at Ohio State for a previous injury that occurred while in high school, will not be medically cleared to play by the OSU medical staff. O’Connor, who red-shirted the 2012 season, has requested a transfer to be closer to home."
Never like to see kids transfer, but something tells me if this kid was ever going to start on the line he wouldn't be gone.
Stinks losing O'Connor but thankfully munger is sticking with his commitment so he can play guard now.
Figured this was coming, starting to be clearer picture of the extra schollies we have open for 13 class.
Well these weren't the first names I expected to hear making an exit out of the prgram but best of luck to both of them I think we new Crowells injury in HS was a nasty one to begin with hopefully he can keep a maedical scholarship and get his degree.

Trying to keep from starting another thread, so here is the input from LandGrantHolyLand on Joey O'Connor
Hope the Staff doesn't mind it being posted in this thread?
Joey O'Connor, freshman Ohio State o-lineman, leaves the program
By Luke Zimmermann on Jan 23, 4:54p
After an injury shortened freshman season, offensive lineman Joey O'Connor is departing the Ohio State football program.
Those worrying about scholarship math just got a little bit of breathing room. The Ohio State University football program announced in a release Wednesday afternoon that freshman offensive lineman Joey O'Connor was no longer with the team. O'Connor was thought to be a flight risk for the better part of the last several months after it came out how he had trouble adjusting to life on a team ripe with big city players, where as O'Connor, a Windsor, Colorado prospect, considered himself more of a small town guy.
O'Connor was originally a Penn State commit, decommitted in November of 2011 before choosing the Buckeyes January 17th of 2012. His target transfer destination isn't known as this time.

That's bad. We obviously want O'Connor stay. Being away from home while mending the injury has to be difficult especially during freshman year. Oh well.

Whatever you do kid, for the love of God, don't transfer to Colorado. They are absolutely pitiful! CSU is a joke so I wonder where else he may wind up. Everybody wins here, happy endings for all!
