Smith has a chance to be something special in Scarlet and Gray.
But the biggest thing limiting him, imo, is his inability to adjust when the ball is in the air. You saw that a couple of times today. He consistently doesn't make the adjustment needed when the ball is in the air.
Also, it would be great if he could lay out for a ball now and then.

Concentration. Even on special teams he's always making some bone headed plays.
Before I read opened this was thinking "...can only run in a straight line."
You can't handle the truth
I might be wrong but it looks like he gives up way too easily.
totally agree. my boys have been yelling this for weeks. if its not right at him he seems to just give up.
I don't know if it's "giving up" or that he can't adjust. But it is very frustrating.
You may not want to overlook the fact that Braxton doesn't always put air under the ball or let his receivers run under the ball. There were 2 or 3 passes intended for Devin in the first half that had TD potential if Brax puts some more air under it and/or throws it so Devin can run under the ball.
A one handed catch in the first game says otherwise. This is wrong imo. Lack of concentration is the issue.
I agree with those who say he has problems diverting from his straight line path. If you go back and watch his high school videos he is almost always going straight. Weird little quirk in his game. But yes his concentration needs to improve as well.
