I need to start this by saying I live in Michigan so every monday up here is worse then ohio Mondays. But i heard about all the studs we had coming in this past weekend for camp and fully expected at least one or two kids commiting.....Am I the only one finding that weird? I hear all the scum fans talking about what a great class they have and my buckeye buddies say just wait the dam is breaking soon for commits and we sit today with no new commits????????

If you look at the 2013 kids that were there this weekend, almost none of them were kids that had offers. We could have gotten commitments from probably 3 different decent kids if we had offered them, but the coaching staff isn't panicking. Darron Lee is a great example. That kid seems to be a very very good athlete, but he he might project at safety and you save that spot for Vonn Bell as long as it looks like there's a decent chance to get him.
I actually hate the early nature of college recruiting now. These kids haven't even played a down of senior year football (in some cases, junior year) and you get stuck treating these kids like puppies, looking at their paws to project how good/fast/big/strong their going to be.
But if you don't offer, someone else will, and the arms races continues...
The kids have to have an offer to commit right?
I would like someone to point out any 2013 who have camped that was given an offer? You can't name one because there wasn't any.

This is a fairly young football team at most positions..and with the last two recruiting classes they should have plenty of talent. With some scholarship reductions and what I have read or heard about the '14 class compared to the '13, maybe they are okay with maybe having to 'bank' scholarships if they don't get the kids they target this year. This will give them plenty of flexibility next year. Of course they take the kids they've offered for '13 if they want to commit.
Two of Scums top tackles got manhandles by speed rushers of the edge...one had to move to center and other to guard just to be semi productive......still elite?? i dont think so
