Wanted to pass this on..
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Thompson has the same skill set and will remind you of a young Jared Allen of the Minn. Vikings. My brother who lives in Chicago area watched him through out last season and said he's a "run-a-way fright train that can out run some running backs".. Pure Freak... His motor never ever stops and wants to hurt someone on every play. will be a great leader in the locker room, his work ethic is second to none. Great pick up and I m sure he will climb the ratings charts..

Thanks Ponzie Scam. Keep the bro's reports coming next fall.
I saw this video when it was added yesterday. Safe to say that I am very excited about him after seeing this video. The best part is, is a lot of the plays are only from a few games unlike other highlight films that have 15 games in them.
2014 Buckeye commit: Montini High School-Lombard, IL
ok, thanks for the Video link!!! Wow !!!
Jared was no Jared when he was younger. He was lanky and long armed and didn't even fill out completely in college. His combine bench was something anemic like 12 reps. Dylan is far thicker than Jared ever was at that age so I see more of a Rob Rose type in terms of recent OSU comparisons.
fare enough !! I would be totally happy with a current comparison to Jared Allen
the OP's handle is apprapo.
I'm excited about the commitment of Dylan, to compare him to an NFL HOF'er is right out of the Bernie Madoff playbook.
I sure hope he has a more significant career than Rob Rose though.
My favorite is when we get the comparison to a legend plus a little more.
For example, he is like Laurinaitis but only more athletic. Or something along those lines.
Jared Allen comparisons aside, that is a very impressive highlight film. It's fun getting the highly touted guys with crazy measurable stats and 40 time, but I love getting those guys who have a non-stop motor and always come ready to work.
Awesome. Another Rob Rose is just what we need.
Rob Rose? No ill take his size thats it!
jared allen may be a stretch!! we got carried away with our analogy... but his damn intensity got us pumped!!

what ever happened to rob rose.. did he grad, transfer?
I do not profess to be a great judge of football talent and when I saw that this young man had announced he was going to be a Buckeye I was a bit taken back that he had a commitable offer this early. I like his physical size but on the board it looked like we were in on other players better than he. Again I learned and was reminded of a valuable lesson. Our Staff is not only evaluating well but they are doing so early which is enabling us to accept earlier commitments this year. I thank the gentleman posting these highlights because truly this is a great get for us. Not sure where he will ultimately play for us (DE or DT) but wherever it is he will be a real asset. He reminds me a lot of our own Bennett (who I consider a future all-Big 10 player). He is quick off the ball and to the ball and he reads the situation very well.
I saw Thompson play in the state championship and I thought, damn this kid is good. I am very familiar with the Montini program and Coach Andriano and his staff do a good job in teaching their kids and producing high character young men. This is the school Garrett Goebel is from. His 24/7 rating was 89 when I last checked, just missing 4 star status but I am certain that his stock will continue to rise and that he'll be a solid 4 star next year. I love how well he runs, he is fast and athletic. Love to have that speed on the outside at SDE but he has the look of a guy who will be versatile enough to play end or 3 Tech. He's already very strong for a HS player, benching 400 with another year of HS ball ahead of him. I say good job of our staff in evaluating him and getting in before he really blows up next year.
Rob Rose tore up both shoulders and was toast after the second one. Really tooooo bad. He was a horse.
If you watch his junior tape and forget about the reported measurables, I see a taller John Simon. Thompson looks 6'3" and 250ish, is rangier than I expected, and is technically sound. Granted, that's a junior film, and he may have grown since then.
Not comparing him to Simon, just not seeing him as a 3 technique...really liking him as a SSDE.
Can you imagine JJ Watt (Bosa) and Jared Allen (Thompson) on the same DL?
If true, I hope Thompson also grows a mullet.
Some peeps are missing the point.
I was only trying to compare similarly sized players in HS and how they might project on the DL at OSU.
Rose had a lot of promise before injuries and bad company derailed him - those things shouldn't be a factor in a comparison.
your cool , totally understood where you were coming from. all good!!! go bucks
I think he graduated not sure but I know he didnt make it to the nfl. I actually thought he was gonna be a monster but he never panned out
someone told me was coaching in ohio somewhere?
