Now that everyone is relaxed, lets take a look at the season thus far.
I have gone through many of threads on here and have seen numerous posters calling for Luke Fickell to be fired. Really?? its not even game 4 yet. Granted the defense has under performed, particurally against Cal. trust me, if Urban doesnt think Fickell can get the job done, he will NOT be here next season, end of story. Meyer will not keep him here to keep others happy. He expects results and will do whatever it takes to get the results he seeks.
anyone who think this team was or will go 12-0 may need to reexamine. Those are completely unrealistic expectations for a what was a poor team last year, and running a completley new offense. This team needs to use this year as a learning experience, and get the system down. Many people were calling for more I formation?? are you freaking kidding me? Everyone pissed and moaned bout tressels offense....do you really wanan see it again!?
People have said they "dont like the spread" tell me that in two years when Meyer gets the guys who can actually run it properly.
Everyone just relax, this team will be fine....probably 10-2 this year with a drubbing of scum.
This team can win 12 games and those who don't think so need to watch more football. There is nobody in the B10 better than we are.
ND showed everyone how to beat MSU. Stop Bell and force Maxwell and their halfassed WR's to beat you.
Neb is probably the toughest team we play. The win over Southern Miss doesn't look as good after USM got beat by a nobody this weekend.
This team needs to shore up its tackling, get penalized less, and catch 3rd down passes...if we did that Saturday we would have nuked Cal 56-14
Another one of these?
This Ohio State team is definitely going to having growing pains. Young team with a new staff, means at times they are going to look very ordinary. This Buckeye team may never be a top 10 or even 15 team nationally this year, but I still think they could go 12-0. Going on the road, will be difficult, regardless of opponent. So even though Sparty and Wisky look very beatable winning at their places might too much to ask this years Buckeye team, but since both of those teams do look very beatable, and I think this year's team is capable of playing solid football, I still think 12-0 is not out of the question. That is not to say that winning at home is a for gone conclusion. I know Nebraska or even and inspired Illini could be a problem for the Buckeyes.
If this team does manage to win them all they may end up one of the worst 12-0, BCS conference, teams in recent memory. Not a bad team, just not a Great team. I hope by years end they continue to improve to the point where we can consider them a very good team, regardless of record.
better to have a thread like this than another "--------- needs to be fired NOW!"; "--------- should never have been given a scholoarship!!!!" "---------- can't coach at this level!!!!"
RIght....maybe I shoudl start a a thread About Anzalone, Kalis....or my all time favorite....how awful bollman was....and how Tressel's offense was prehistoric....thanks for your concern.
