From the head ball coach himself!
Can't wait to catch those bastards & beat them with their own brand of football.
''Truth means exactly (that); you have a good season, and there's a lot of conversation about things that really shouldn't be discussed because it's not true,'' he said, referring to extremely early predictions that figure the Buckeyes to be among the top handful of teams in the nation in 2013. ''For example, are you guys going to (contend for the national title) next year? No, probably not, unless we get a lot better - like, a lot better.''
Meyer even detailed what makes teams like Alabama, Georgia, LSU and the rest of Southeastern Conference - where he coached for six years at Florida 2005-2010, winning two national titles - so much better than everyone else.
''The SEC, right now, the quantity (of great players) is far greater than the quantity at the upper-level Midwestern schools,'' Meyer said. ''It's up to the Big Ten to change that. There's one way to do that: Go out and recruit and get some more depth. But to say that there's not quality football players in the Big Ten, that's not correct. The quantity is the biggest difference.''
Even though he said he won't discuss with his players how they can compete with the Crimson Tide and others, that doesn't mean he isn't thinking about it - ''24/7, every second of (my) life.''
''We've got to go catch them,'' he said of Alabama, the national champs in three of the last four seasons. ''Everybody's trying to catch the best. Some people are probably trying to catch us. There's nothing else I'd rather do than watch these other programs and kind of figure out how they're doing it, how do we get that or do that? How do we beat that?''
The only people who think the SEC is overrated is jealous OSU/BIG10 fans.
The BCS Championships & bowl records speak for themselves.

The SEC IS overrated. Still doesn't mean it isn't the best conference.
We saw Florida get smashed by Louisville and of course dopes like Herbie try to explain that away.
It's also much easier to win titles when schools like UO(who would have done the same thing to the Irish) don't get the benefit of the doubt being a one loss school.
It's so overrated they've won 7 bcd championships in a row! Did you not read what Urban said what separates them from others?
QUANTITY of good players! 6-3 in bowls this year. Explain to me how they r overrated when they when the big one every year???
Thank goodness Urban knows what it take to beat them & recruiting & coaching to that end. Thank God the Bucks didn't play Bama this year, as they would have been embarrassed as well. 2014 is the year!

Uh oh, the highly esteemed MattC might call you a Michigan/SEC fan.
For me, I have a helluva lot of respect for the SEC.

Meyer was asked where the Buckeyes have to get to to compete for the national title.
“I said this on TV,” he said. “Texas A&M beat them, Georgia could have beat them, LSU could have beat them. But they soundly won the national championship game. That will tell you about their conference.
“Where are we? I don’t like to deal with speculation. I think we are a very good team that could compete with anybody in the country. I didn’t feel that way at the beginning of the year or even at the middle of the year. But after the last game, I even said that.
“To think we could roll in there and beat that team, I don’t want to speculate. If I was to give you an honest answer, I’d probably say we have too many holes to fill.”
What specific words you use to describe the $EC dominance is nothing but semantics....
The Facts are:
#1 - They Schedule "Smarter" than any other Conference.
#2 - They recruit better football talent, and in depth, and they pay their Head Coaches and Assistants more $$.
#3 - They maintain a huge advantage with over-signing recruits.
#4 - They usually dominate their Bowl Games, and have won the past 7 NCG.
Add this all up....and you get success.
