This isn't like a Nate Ebner thing where you are shocked they are in the NFL.
This thread is for the guys that you casually hear their name mentioned during a NFL game and go "You're seriously STILL in the NFL? Good for you man"
For me its Ben Hartsock. A blocking specialist TE with not much speed and with 31 career receptions (3-4 games worth for Witten)
With a 53 man roster, an aging blocking TE is a luxury most teams don't hold a spot for.
Runner up goes to Will Allen who i thought would have a very solid NFL career. Never really broke into a starting lineup and I think there is another Will Allen in the NFL and hence I kind of thought our Will Allen fizzled out. Apparently not.
Life on the fringe. Go Buckeyes.

Hartsock was my pick too.
Kevin Houser was previously my "shocked he's in the NFL Buckeye" (out of league now). I peripherally knew his older brother Bob and always did a doubletake when I saw him.
There is soooooo much cutthroat competition to get to, and stay in, the NFL. It says a lot about a man who can make it in that business.

Backup Offensive Linemen for the New York Giants
pleasantly surprised he's stuck around on a SuperBowl caliber Team thus far.
Ashton Youboty would be a close second. He's with Jacksonville if am not mistaken.
this is a funny tangent but a lot of my friends attended UCLA.
They always joked about how former Rams/Ravens receiver Drew Bennet "alleges he went to UCLA"
Was a walkon who earned a scholarship at QB and then switched to WR where he got a whopping 2 catches. Every time they heard him rep UCLA on national tv, they would joke he was making it up.
Ryan Pickett. I'm 32 now, and it seems like I was like 10 when he was playing for tOSU...but he is still in the NFL!
My your liqueur be cold, your women be hot, and all your problems slide off like snot.
Alex Boone. What a disappointment at TOSU based on his potential. I watched him be punishing against NE's DL the other night. A different player.
Jake Ballard last year and I believe in the future. Makes you shake your head thinking about how we did not use him right here.

Cleveland Orchestra Baby!! World's greatest!! The Brown's wet dream is to be them. The Ohio State University-Where the Illibuck Lives!
Rob Sims is my #1 because I don't remember him be THAT much of a standout, but Pickett (college stud) is a close second because that dude is OLD for DL. He's in his late '60s.
You can't handle the truth
Ballard last year totally blew my mind. Not only was he playing in the NFL but he had like a dozen or so 25 yard catches in just 1 year with the Giants.
Made no sense.
Nate Ebner. I guess he's disqualified from this discussion from the OP. My second choice is Alex Boone. I figured he would have drank himself out of the league, and I didn't think he could make the switch to guard.

Antoine Winfield. I mean I guess he actually plays a lot and is a starter, but I'm surprised he is still even in the league with his age playing at the level he is still at. I mean, his freshman year at osu our jerseys were still made by Champion lol.
We are coming for you Bama!
Brandon Saine if I wasn't a Bengal fan Biom Herron may be up there but since u follow the bengals too close that doesn't count.

Man lots of buckeyes still sticking in the nfl. Not really one who sticks out in my mind but Boone us a roadgrader and whitner us still a stud. Pickett still playing well hartsock still solid.
Brian Hartline, huge season (yardage wise)! I believe Larry Grant (Rams) is/was a starter still and doing well...
ok well after looking into it on the rams roster I didnt see grant on there but I found a guy named Jake McQuaide..... apparently he is a long snapper from The Ohio State University.... Hmmm ring a bell with anyone? I dont remember the name of this guy ever being on OSU wonder if that is accurate or I am just not remembering him?????
Larry Grant is a niner. Been on the squad for several years and has looked awesome when he gets the chance to play but is still a backup due to the Niners being awesome defensively.
I remember him. He was our long snapper the during the Pryor days. Really funny picture of him getting in Travis Benjamin's face when we played da u in 2010
National President of the Sky is NOT Falling Club
You never hear about the long snapper unless he screws up. Jake must have been a good one!
Spitler...Sits behind JL until his Sr year. Plays SAM which is maybe 50% of the defenses snaps but does it well. I still remember him making a play in the backfield against Iowa but I also remember him trying to make a play on the sideline against Penn St and it took him a day to get out there. I think he is a special teams player in Miami.
