_ichigan Football would be Minnesota without The Great State of Ohio!! O-H! I-O!
Alpha as usual you demonstrate your ignorance.
1. Edmonton is a SMALL market team and their owner hit super hard times when the price of oil dropped << $20/barrel in the mid eighties. and the real estate market in Edmonton dried up. He sold off the franchise one player at a time to pay off his debts. Gretzky was the prize and was injured (although no one admits this) so Pocklington (the name of the owner b/c I'm sure you have no fucking clue) sold him to LA for top $$.
2. That team would have won at least 5 or 6 more titles had Pocklington kept them together. Their GM Glenn Sather is one of the best in sports not just Hockey. The left overs won one more without their two best players = Messier and Gretzky.
3. If you want a comparison of team sports dominance think Big Red Machine starting eight and bull pen with the Atlanta Braves pitching staff of the 90s
The key players from that team went to LA and came one stupid penalty away from another cup.
I'm sure you think Ernie Banks sucks b/c he never won a World Series, and the towel boy for the Yankees is a stud. You are a total idiot.
Essentially what he's saying is that what happened in Edmonton is like if Jerry Reinsdorf lost all his money and traded away Jordan to Vancouver for scraps and a lot of cash. But like I said before its moot point to bother explaining anything to hoops fans. They're in their own little world...
I couldn't choose. Both are considered the greast of all time in their respective sports. Its like trying to say who is holier....God or Jesus?
"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
I will go with God. LOL
Debatable.... Roger Federer is right there
he wouldn't let his players pose in the Playboy All-American magazine edition, he said, "Cause you can't play football with an erection."
What are you on sir?
So when is the "doggy or Missionary" thread happening? Because I have a lot to offer to that thread.
