Urbs, better offer this kid a scholly!
Only twenty years ago, 70-yard field goals in professional football seemed an impossibility but these days, even high school students are draining field goals from that insane distance.
***Buckeye Til I Die***
yep... he can get it done
Looks like he had a 20+ MPH wind at his back.
Notice how much his kicks are hooking and his shorts fluttering in the wind.
I can vividly remember drop kicking one from about 67 yds prior to practice in warm ups. The SOB cleared easily, halfway up the uprights! I f'ing mashed that ball!

lol yeah thats a good point, looks like he has a pretty solid leg though
Did you say 70 yards??!
dudes got a wicked power fade on those kicks
Wind definitely helps, at my hs a kid hit a 65 yarder (or maybe 63) during a game. He was never offered a schollie from OSU (he had issues with easy extra points and FGs) and went on to sign with Pitt. He'd the reason why they lost to ND
Touche my friend.... +1
I hit 63 off a block. Couldn't hit 50 off the ground. Huge, huge difference. Harder ball as well. 70 off the turf, even with a tailwind, is amazing!
The drop kick is a lost art. I wish more kickers would try it.
He had a crazy wind behind him. Nonetheless that's impressive he looks the part of a D1 kicker without a doubt.
We need guys who can nail the extra points and the long stuff. No need for 70 yard FGs (or FGs at all, for that matter) for the next several years. 7s, not 3s.
Your the only one on this board who can say that and I would believe without visual footage.
Coyoungin on twitter. Circular square movement.
Certainly is. I was pretty damn good at it. Would go up against anyone back then. I couldn't "kick" for shit though. ONLY drop kick. I even blasted two in warm ups at the Holiday Bowl in '93 from 50 with ease before coach Stock ripped my ass! LOL! The grass there was so nice I had to do it. Many times I'd do it to warm up my leg before practice. I didn't like stretching that much. Jog a bit and blast a few drop kicks for shits and giggles and then start punting.
Well, I did it again inside the WOODY on another occasion in front of the Channel Ten guys. Dom Tiberi and "Moose". I blasted one from the 50 yd line and it actually went through one of rafters above and was dead center about 3/4 of the way up the crossbar. Good from 70 easy!
and I promise I won't unload in your mouth...keep going
The trajectory of the ball looks like a fade rather than a hook. Unusual when considering the normal hook trajectory of "soccer style" lickers.
