My hope is that he would be more of a coach than a contributor. With our cupcake schedule we have the luxury to develop the others who seem to have a much higher ceiling than Hall.
I don't get why everyone hates on hall so much. He's a strong, quick back with experience who can catch the ball out of backfield. He's a solid punt returner and a very solid 3rd down type of back. To say at this point that a senior in HS will be more valuable to our team next year than him is ridiculous. He got hurt and people forget some of the flashes he showed us early on in his career. He's a fast twitched, hit the hole quick type of back. I personally love his game and think he can be a big contributor on both offense and special teams. I hate when everyone overlooks solid veteran players and want to sub in a high school highlight tape for them. Hall will be a Pleasent surprise to many of you this year.
I don't understand it either. He doesn't have 4.4 speed, but he will make his guy miss every time. If there are 7-8 yards on the field to be had, he will get them for you.

wow he wasn't going against SEC speed, we are recruiting to play the SEC and their defensive players have jetpacks..lol
Too logical, too obvious, too simple, therefore unacceptable to this board...
EXACTLY.... Jordy and Hyde are chain movers... Brax, Philly and Smith are home run hitters.
The new kids on the block have outrageous ceilings to both move the chains and hit homers off of ridiculously simple plays. But they have to figure out how to block and run routes and settle into a new level of game speed.
Hall's role next year lies somewhere in the middle of all these theories. He isn't a game breaker. We saw him in 2 1/2 games last year in Mayer's offense, so we can see what he is.
He is a nice complimentary back/player to have.
He most likely isn't a starter on this team. He isn't starting over Hyde or Philly at their respective positions. He could be the #2 behind either of those guys, my guess would be Philly with the plethora of talented backs.
I'm sure he will make some nice plays for the team during the season. At the same time, if some young guys start to emerge I can see his role getting smaller.
Hail Hail to MeatChicken the Cesspool of the World!
Obviously if someone doesn't break a 60 yd run they aren't playmakers.
Picking up 1st downs & moving the chains & not fumbling are not important
Those things are important. We also have several players who fill those needs. Question is if Hall better than the guys that do that now?
Meyer didn't go after this young fast guys for them to sit on the bench, he expects them to compete and get on the field.
It will be interesting to see it all play out. Hall will have value to this team, not sure in what capacity.
