Hail Hail to MeatChicken the Cesspool of the World!
Picture this spring practice scenario:
First team offense in formation. Meyer, Herman, and Drayton behind them, watching every move, and coaching the starters. The rest of the offensive roster behind them... Who is standing with the running backs, pointing out alignment adjustments, blitz pickups, etc?
Rod Smith? (ummmm no)
Dunn? (yeah right)
Ball? (maybe, but RS Frosh coming off injury?)
Zeke? (true frosh with head spinning?)
I'll take Jordan Hall leading that discussion any day! This is one thing that continues to get overlooked in team sports. The simple fact is until there is a coach for every single player on the roster (and there never will be) then senior leaders, role players, whatever you want to call them are truly vital to any successful team in any sport. Is this worth one of our 82 scholarships? Hell yes!!!! And not to mention he adds depth at a position where depth can quickly disappear, as we know all too well from last year.
How the hell do you know that Smith can't pick up a blitz considering he played a significant amount last year. How do you know Dunn or Ball hasn't learned the offense and is just as good as blitz pick up as any of them are? They all have had 1 year in Meyers offense which means that all are on EQUAL footings. And I will take what I saw from Smith last year then what Hall has given in his 4 and soon to be 5.
FAIL POST IS FAIL AND GARBAGE.
This isn't hard to understand! Its just typical "fan talk". Fans ALWAYS fall in love with the new guys. Jordan Hall will contribute more than any of the freshman on offense. It's almost a certainty ......
How is it a certainty? I think most can agree that Hall will not be a starter, unless injuries call for it. His position is the “Percy Harvin" role that we keep hearing referred to. That is getting fast and shifty guys into space. It's not asking the player to do a ton of other things. Get the ball and be a play maker. Wilson, Clark and Marshall all are that type of player. They are not asked to run between the tackles and pound the ball. It's like Braxton as a freshman, when he got into space he made things happen. Not because of his experience, but because of his athletic ability.
Hall may contribute more. But to right off the freshman just because they are freshman and unproven isn't fact either.
