As much as i hate to say it Kentucky will be laughing next year with the class they have coming in coupled with some of the guys coming back next year.
That Cauley-Stein whatever the F his name is.....he is soft as hell. Yes, being 7ft will get him drafted but does anyone know where he is projected?
If he is now back stepping saying he wants to keep the door open that's fine but from what i watched from him multipe times this year he needs a lot of work and his stock could be astronomically higher next year assuming he improves his game.
Regardless, that was FUN AS SHIT watching them get beaten by Robert Morris!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
They six Freshman on the way in - I guess when no one plays past their sophomore year four years in row they always have schollie's available.
Good point!! It was interesting hearing Calipari talk about the season and how he said he more or less did things to "appease" the players to help vs. doing things his way.
I guess when you have to coordinate a dodge ball game for your team in late Feb that is never a good sign!!!!!
Does anyone have a count on how many openings Kentucky has for next year's class? Is Calipari counting on some of this year's 1 and not-yet-done's to leave making an opening for the new class? Seems to me Calipari's "system" will be experiencing a little bit of constipation next year...can you say, "chemistry problems"?
Yes it was fun
Kentucky is eliminated in the first round of the NIT by Robert Morris.

Looks like WorldWideWes strikes again..........

I believe Kentucky only has one senior so 4-5 players have to leave. Calipari counts on multiple freshmen leaving each year so when you have a year where some of the freshmen don't pan out as predicted and want to stay due to their draft position it creates a major problem. It should be interesting how the roster is managed.
I would take a loss to Robert Morris if just won the National Title and will be favored to win it again. Take a year off. Who cares. Bookend Championships we all would take it and laugh doing it.
It's amazing what he does getting players to come wherever he is at. He walks in he says: Derek Rose
and the guards say where do I sign. It's a stepping stone to the NBA and that's what most of those kids want.
The more i think about it the more absurd it is. They have the top ranked player at almost EVERY position on the floor and still have a shot at one more (even though idk how they'll make room):
Will be their starting line-up, not to mention they could have three guys returning including a seven footer coming off the BENCH. I don't know how much Calipari is paying these guys but it has to be absurd.
I doubt he has to pay them. Tell them he knows they want the quickest and easiest path to the NBA. Come to Kentucky where you be treated like a king, no academic expectations other than staying eligible for less than a year. He has created a system will he will take as many one and dones as possible and try to win a championship each year with practically a new team. It worked last year, not this year, we will see about next, but it looks promising.
Kind of looks like that movie "Blue Chips".....
With this recruiting class, I think they'll now be able to make it to the second round of the NIT next year.
We may have lost the battle......but not the war.
Because clearly the aforementioned players needed Calipari's tutelage that could not be fund anywhere else in order to reach the next level.
You are right, HE doesn't pay them but hooking them up with the right people who will pay them or I don't know, possibly represent them at the next level, is one theory. Wink, wink.
Either Cal is a master of orchestrating the $100 handshakes without anyone knowing he was involved or he is just the most blind HC of all time... He leaves UMass, trouble, Leaves Memphis, Trouble.....Not saying he's cheating, but when was UMass ever A) a contender and B) In trouble with NCAA?
Hence, being treated like kings. College basketball as a whole is pretty corupt.
