I understand a short bench the last 2 seasons... We knew we were playing for a #1 seed from day one... You can't afford to have many slip-ups throughout the season if thats ur goal... However, this year we have 0% chance of getting a #1 seed... We're gonna lose some games, not just because were down, but because the conference is up... If we're gonna make a run at the end of the year, Laquinton Ross is gonna have to be a weapon for us.... He's our second most talented player offensively, and if his defense is going to get better, he needs to be on the floor... We may take a few lumps along the way, but lets face it, we're going to no matter what...
My point exactly... Great post
where's boren.....are defensive intensity blows......lol
When do we start rewarding players for good play.....i could understand if he was effing up.....but he seemed ok in the little i saw in the first half.....i get to watch it tonight
I am also puzzled.......our offense was pretty stagnant the last 5-6 minutes of the game.
I did not understand or care for our offensive approach during that time which was having Craft stand around and dribble down the shot clock then try to force something up. Against the better teams in the B1G that will not be successful.
Ross doesn't have to play MAJOR minutes but damn...if we are spreading the court why wouldn't Matta at least mix in Ross because he CAN create and penetrate on offense????
DT didn't shoot a freaking shot the last 10 min of the game.....THAT will not fly as well. I am happy with the win and the teams effort but still concerned with periods of the game and how we approach it.
I would have much rather had Shannon Scott running the point late in the game because he creates so much better than Craft.
Bottom line it has to come down to Trust and Matta must not trus Ross in the game when it is even remotely tight.
Purdue is an YOUNG inexperienced team......it is a good thing we played them last night. Better teams have MUCH better half court offenses....until we have a solid game against a GOOD team i am going to remain anxious about this team.
They still have a lot to prove.......
