I've decided to get rid of cable, no disrespect to the Mexican population, but I'm not Mexican, I'm not a politician, I'm not going to buy the super bra or any other stupid device sold on 55 channels, I'm not into MTV anymore and I'm not 5 y/o. So I got tired of cable telling me that I had to pay $200 a month and then telling me what I HAD to watch.. I now watch Netflex, Hulu and an assortment of other channels that give me all the TV coverage I want.
MY QUESTION TO YOUSE GUYS IS SPORTS....where do I get my sports now?
Now I subscribed to the Ohio State website last year so I could watch the wrestling coverage. I don't really care about all the other football game on TV, ( Texas Tech vs SMU , give me a gun ) BUT I do want to watch the Buckeyes. I know ESPN 3 offers sports and I did watch the NCAA wrestling finals on them. If I get the tOSU and BTN sports packages will that give me all the coverage I need to see all the games? I still get the local networks, ABC, NBC, CBS but not ESPN directly. I can't miss the Buckeyes! I have a bar that is close enough but I hate to get cable back just for ONE channel. Help me guys, if you can.
I'm gonna get the tOSU total yearly package for internet coverage and maybe the BTN yearly coverage, even doing this I still don't come close to paying what cable wants.

Not always the best quality.... but:
It's how I spend ever Sunday with about 5 games in 5 different windows for FF.
I'm very close to doing this myself. Live sports and news has been whats holding me back.
I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters.

You can use websites for free like what BuckinUp posted, I actually use that website a great deal. Depending on your cable provider, you can usually watch most ESPN sporting events online for free. You can also pay to stream BTN online.
Television news is so gross, why?
Otherwise I'm in the same boat. I'm actually in a lucky spot though. I'm about to drop my cable to the minimum in order to get HBO, which won't be that much more than getting just internet since you get the bundled discount.
As far as being lucky though, my neighbor that we know well is a HS defensive coordinator that I'm going to watch games with. I'd love to get to sit in with a real X's and O's guy. Home games I'll always be there.
I stay away from sites like what was listed. Some are fine, but lots are loaded with spy/adware that it tries to bury in your computer. That's obviously legalities aside.

you don't like Mexicans? Confused by that whole statement
What does being a Mexican have to do with the number of channels we have?
Not regular news. Live news. If something is going down, I want to be able to watch it. I don't care about the talking heads. I care about things as they are happening that I might be interested in following.
I'd also like to add, my brother made the switch and is the one inspiring me. He seems happy. His logic regarding sports is that if he can't get it online, he will simply have an excuse to drive to the Bdubs and have some beers.
It was hard to argue with.
Alas, I live on an island in Florida. As you can imagine, the local bars aren't necessarily aching to show tOSU. And the alumni club bar is FAR away.
NOPE , I have a really great Mexican friend that I teach with, my point is that if you go to a restaurant and order a steak and they say that you got to have the side orders that they tell you to have, you'd be pissed. I don't speak spanish, took 4 years of it in HS but it never stuck, therefore, except for the fact that every show no matter what has hot busty babes on it, I don't understand what's going on. Let me ask you this, Do you like the fact that there are tons of channels that you get BUT will never watch? You can have all the channels you want, the news people can have all the channels that they want, the reality show people the same thing,,, my point is WHY can't we order a steak with a side order of baked potato and corn, why the hell do we get spinach and beets? This isn't racial, so.....but I do like you avatar handle.
NIce, I have an OSU restaurant bar that's pretty close, but I really like watching the games at home, you know, lie on the couch, eat whatever, and burp to my hearts content. I have minimum cable like Playmea said just for the local news, never know when there will be an outbreak or something.
thanks, I've give that a try.
Yea, I get ESPN3 free and I will pay the streaming BTN and OSU online websites, they are a lot cheaper and again, I choose what I want to watch, Not exactly interested in watching Iowa St. vs Houston or some such game. Thanks,
