Big Ten name will always be the same no matter 1 member, or 50. It's an embedded name that represents brand.
This expansion stuff is exciting. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
I wondered if B1G might not simply make a power play to 20 teams. Delany keeps saying they are opening B1G offices on the east coast for Pete's sake. You don't open league offices on the east coast for Maryland and Rutgers. You open league offices on the east coast to run a massive new operation.
The other thing is if you essentially take the best from the Big 12 and ACC, create two massive divisions, haven't you completed a fait accompli by securing 2 of the 4 playoff spots for yourself? Literally, it would force ND and Texas in with you and leave you competing against the SEC and Pac-12. Plus, if it is big enough it would put BTN on basic cable everywhere, then you sell national games to NBC, Fox or ABC or all 3. Rainmaker.

I wouldn't like 2 Divisions of 10.
I would go with 4 Divisions of 5
Then you could have the 4 Division Winners play a 4 team playoff for the BIG TEN Title.
Plus if only 2 Divisions you wont get to play everyone
With 4 Divisions you could rotate the different Divisions on and off the schedule easier.
Play every one on your division and one other whole division for 9 conf games. rotate the other divisions every year. So play every team at least once every 3 years

Thought this was a good article even though not a big fan of the site.
Thought this was a good article even though not a big fan of the site. If posted already sorry.
Good article, but no way does it shake out UNC to SEC and Duke to B1G. The author must be SEC centric to be foolish enough to believe that is realistic. If UNC separates from Duke it is for B1G only. The only way Duke goes to B1G is if B1G goes beyond 16 teams IMO, and it goes with UNC.
