Haha. I get what you're saying, but if we add them for TV's/footprint and THEN we add UNC/VA, do you feel it would be worth it?

Two things about this move other than money:
I think MD is a sleeping giant in the mold of Oregon.
The stealth of which this developed- I was very surprised. There was little speculation until it was a done deal
Dave, help me here....what is the draw here? I am just not quite getting this from our side? We will split more revenues for a team that is just not nationally relevant...can you give us some insiders thinking? Rutgers, I would understand but not Maryland...thanks Dave.
Bollman, your insight into Maryland is as good as your offensive line coaching...a sleeping giant? Are you serious?
I miss my Kate Upton Picture
Yes, have you heard of Under Armor? Do some research and you will see some interesting similiarities.

It is appealing that we are bringing in a team with that kind of backing. I would NOT be surprised if Under Armor all of a sudden took on a much larger presence in the B1G. It's my understanding that the owner was a HUGE proponent of this move. So thats a big deal.
I have no problem ditching the "Nike" powerhouse for a growing brand that is affiliated with one of our own.
However, predicting an Oregon-like ascension for Maryland is the REACH of all REACHES.
I didn't say tomorrow but I think it can happen
There is no doubt that on the surface this move will have a detrimental impact on the B1G football brand. This is without question and anyone who thinks otherwise should have their head examined.
However, I realize there are other motivations. I have detailed those myself. There are opportunities for growth and increased income. I also believe that academically we will mutually benefit.
I think in the short term, this move dramatically favors Maryland vs the B1G. I'm hoping that in the long term the B1G model for expansion prevails. Its evident that we have a plan. That plan likely prioritizes certain things that we simply are not anticipating and the B1G leadership likely have the metrics backing it up.
We don't know what has been discussed behind closed doors. But the Nebraska move was VERY calculated. I suspect this one is as well.
I do not approve expansion for the sake of expansion. So I'm putting my faith in the B1G leadership's decision. With that in mind, from my position, I don't like this move. But I hope that the B1G has grander plans that have yet to be fully realized.
