No offense to Michigan (actually i don't care), but there is no way in hell any unbiased observer would think they had a chance. Embarrass the B1G, not so much. All Michigan did was provide some additioanl evidence that last year was a fluke and they are farther away from being relevant again then Michigan fans care to admit.
As a side note when I saw the final score I had this illogical feeling that what started the SEC run in 2007 was coming to an end. It doesn't make sense, but somehow I can't shake that feeling.
I dislike scUM as much as the next Buckeye fan, but I will take the opposite side of this discussion. I don't think there is another team in the B1G that would have done much better. Based on what I saw, I think Nebraska was the only team in the B1G that would have even had a shot at being competitive with them. The Weenies just happened to have the misfortune of being the B1G team to take the ass woopin'.
where is MTroll?
I could've told you this was going to happen when the game was scheduled. Scum was lucky last year, and Saban's team and staff are in another league...no pun intended. Hoke has a long way to, and I don't think he'll ever get there. I had some Bama friends that were nervous about the game. I told them not to worry, you'll curb stomp them. I was right, and they laughed. It does suck for the B1G, but honestly...screw them. For one, it's always nice to see scum beat into the dirt! Two, we are the only team in the B1G capable of playing on SEC level(starting next year). We'll see next year!
Michigan reportedly had one decommit this week. Will there be others?
Well said and right on target.
Yes, remember how GREAT we were going to be last year after our first beating up of Akron! Then the season went to hell quickly.
Michigan's entire offense is predicated on Denard's legs and they decide to showcase his Arm!?! Just dumb, they deserved this whoopin'
Can't just run around like a nut!
The reason the beating was as brutal was due to the fact the ScUM is one demenional. Denard has to do EVERYTHING for that squad. Once Bama relegated him to a pocket passer it was lights out. He's an average passer at best. Bama would beat every team in this conference by at least 14 but a team that has balance has a better shot than any. ScUM had the worst game plan imaginable without their starting RB.
you guys remember when scUM lost to MISSISSIPPI ST. 52-14
People have commented that Denard did not play well or contribute...what I saw was a horrible "swiss cheese" type defense that missed tackle after tackle, took wrong angles, wrong technique(arm tackleing)..and the Alabama OL had their backs 3-4 yards down the field before a scUm player had any kind of shot at him. Michigan played horrible defense in this game....it never game them a chance for victory....
Bottom line is Bama is just better at the point of attack on both sides of the ball. They would take the running game away from any team in the B1G right now, and there is not a team in our conference good enough to beat them through the air. My whole point is that the title of the thread is that they embarassed the B1G, and I am saying that they were just the unfortunate team that drew the short straw.
Nebraska with the option attack and Martinez seeming to find a passing game (throwing for 300+ yards against a respectable team), is the only B1G performance I saw that would have had a prayer of being competitive.
He pulled up after he got 28 and it was still a joke.
Bama slaughtered them just like everyone thought would happen. I'm a firm believer that scUM will be exposed with a tougher schedule and few home games this season. The honeymoon in AA is going to end quickly, and there will be restless natives after Urban drops 50 on them in November.
Bama is the real deal. They are better top to bottom, and Saban is clearly a better coach than cHoke. Robinson is fast, but he was easy for Saban to plan against since he obviously can't throw the ball into tight places.
However, I give it up to them that they took on a big game as their first game. They're no more of a joke than 41-14 on 1/8/07 or 35-3 in LA. At least people expected this blowout with scUM.
You can't handle the truth
