Exactly, the PSU LBer slipped his fingers inside the sleeves of Haynes and pulled him straight towards him as he was also pushing him down ("diving at his knees", please?!?). Besides, I thought you couldn't hit the snapper until he had a chance to establish himself (see OSU/UM '06). To me it didn't look like Haynes had a chance to do that before the PSU LBer engaged him. Lastly, Haynes made a tackle on one of the previous punts, so my guess is they were at least cognizant of trying to slow his release down. A good commentating crew might have pieced that together.
The other thing that annoyed me was Spielman's continued critique of Braxton not 'taking the yards' with his legs. He said it several times and so I rewound those plays several times and not once did I think BM made a blatant error in passing vs. running. And worst it was a 'pick em' in my mind.
I like Spielman, but find myself disagreeing with a lot of his analysis (not just this game) and I thought on Saturday he called a really bad game.
I don't disagree, but this "missed call" was the one that was PSU's biggest bitching point.

You're stupid dude. Stupid funny, that is!
