BETTER SCHEMES, BETTER PREPARATION, BETTER EXECUTION, BETTER FUNDAMENTALS, BETTER ENERGY, BETTER GAME PLANS....How much time do you have?
Maybe. Maybe not. But why does nothing ever get put on the players? Minus Klein they get a free pass. How many dropped passes today? No threads about that. maybe we need a new offensive coordinator (sarcasm). The linebackers and safeties need to be better, I'm not sure a new defensive coordinator would fix all that this year.
Because every single one of them is an upperclassmen and was very highly touted coming out of HS and although some may be overrated or busts they couldn't all be THIS bad and we returned just about everybody from last year and we're WORSE. Just stop it already, you're on an island on this one and your unwavering support of Lukey poo.
Your point? what ever their reasons are....It is clear that what they are doing doesnt work. Their plan of attack the spread offense isnt getting it done. Im assuming that since you are on this site you can see that for yourself. I can also assume that since UM basically said the same thing that he can see it to.
So because I don't feel all the blame should be on Fickell, that makes me wrong? It is obvious changes need made. Maybe coaches, philosophy, players.....maybe all 3. But we all see the games. We see players playing poorly as well as bad coaching decisions.
For what it's worth, as long as any coach is on the staff I will give them support. I may not agree with all their decisions, but as a Buckeye fan I feel I should supported them.
So you are pulling the "I'm a better fan" card? Lame dude!
There is no right or wrong...you have just as much right to your opinion as anyone else. I agree that it's not all LF's fault...just 90%...
I said I'm a better fan? Assuming because we all are on Bucknuts, we all are huge fans. I just support the staff and players. That's my philosophy, you can have yours.
I don't understand why people on here get so combative. We all have our opinions and I never said anybody's was wrong. I feel the players and coaches are both to blame, but Im the one who gets called delusional and what not.
Good days, bad days --- always a Buckeye. Time to begin the assault on the 2014 BCS National Championship
The coordinator puts LBs in position to make the plays. If he is expecting this group of LBs to read and react like a Lauranitis or a Speilman, he has a long wait. In order to get the most out of his LBs he is going to have to give them some aggressive schemes such as blitzing and stunting with linemen. All Fickell has to do is review tapes of the defenses of our first 4 opponents. They had inferior talent to OSU, yet they kept our offense off balance and confused by being aggressive and not just standing back and waiting for us to blow them out. To say they disrupted our offensive flow would be an understatement. No QB likes an unexpected guest in his backfield on practically every play.
Fickell needs to put his LBs in motion so they can be proactive rather than reactive.
That is all well and good if you have the guys to cover man to man. Roby and Howard can, but that is really it. Not to mention the tackling struggles. One guy misses a tackle in man coverage and it's probably 6 points.
Players were getting to the qb in the Cal and Nebraska games, yet they still had success scoring.
