The final Rivals Top 100 has just been released, and Buckeye fans will be pleased to see that Mike Mitchell has finally received his well deserved 5th star. Jalin Marshall ends up just missing out on his 5th star by 2 positions, but still holds a very impressive #35 overall in the country. 7 Buckeyes cracked the top 100, as shown below:
5 Star 6.1
4 Star 6.0
4 Star 6.0
4 Star 6.0
4 Star 6.0
4 Star 5.9
4 Star 5.9
Also of note:
Vonn Bell got his 5th star at #32, Dontre Wilson comes in at #100 overall, and Shane Morris drops down to #81 overall.
81 overall is still about 200 or 300 spots to high for Shane 'Im a vampire' Morris
Gives me alot.of satisfaction to know Mitchell finished above anzalone
Michigan has 3 commits in the top 100 (highest rated is Poggi at #70, though Green would be a nice get for them), Penn State has 3 commits in the top 100 even with sanctions (highest is Hackenberg, 5 star at #24), and Nebraska has 1 commit in the top 100 (RB Newby at #75).
That means that with Ohio State's current 7 commits in the top 100, we have as many as the rest of the B1G COMBINED!
When we are wondering why the B1G is struggling so much, just look back to the lack of top end talent being brought into the league.
There are 4 -5 5 star players that hail from the Mid-West, but the B1G is not making sure that they stay home in B1G country.
Additionally, for all of Michigan's bragging about their OL recruiting this year, our OT Evan Lisle is ranked higher than any of their OTs. Their only OL in the top 100 is OG Kugler.

These are the rankings that I usually pay the most attention to. I def agree with Mitchell getting his fifth star and I have been saying since the spring that I never understood why Rivals had Vonn Bell rated so low. Even though I think he is going to Bama, I'm glad to see him moved up in their rankings. I was a little shocked at how far Eli Apple fell. He was originally in the top 30 and held strong there all year long. I think he had a pretty solid performance in the AA games.
People always wonder why the B1G is falling and falling fast....take a strong look at the recruiting. The B1G's showing in recruiting rankings is an absolute embarrassment!!
I tend to focus on Rivals rankings as well (Buckeye site there is terrible tho).
247 loss it credibly with me on several questionable decisions mainly the Shane Morris and Jalim Marshall rankings.
Me too. Im happy with the rankings but wonder...and will ask in the chat at 2...why they went from sayin apple was our #1 recruit, then dropped him to our 6th. Not to pick a fight, but to pick a brain. I love hearing the rationale behind these decisions. I wish recruiting wasnt so fascinating to me. And so does my wife!! Haha
Great rankings. I only see Green, Treadwell, and Herron as obviously overrated in my book. I would take both Dee Liner and DeMarcus Walker over Herron in heartbeat.
I like Allen but I don't think he is quite the WDE Spence was coming out even though his ranking is better.

Me and you really took the 247 staff to task over Shane Morris and Taco. They would have been better off not answering anything because the answers they did give were stupid.
Who cares if they get Green. Mike Mitchell manhandled his butt at the Army game. He threw him down HARD.
We may have lost the battle......but not the war.
That is called a tackle, and I do believe Green had a nice gain on the play. Running backs have a tendency to be tackled when they are running the ball.
He's a nice back and would have a chance to start from just about day 1 up there. He would be behind Hyde, Smith, and Dunn at the least on our depth chart as a freshman. As much as we like to see Michigan suffer, it would be nice to have some ranked teams on our B1G schedule so that we can get some respect from the rest of the country.
