I think it's smart to error on having more QBs on the roster.
1) It's the most important position on the field
2) QB recruits have a high miss rate adjusting to the college game
3) QBs who don't pan out often transfer so they don't consume a schollie for 4-5 years riding the pine
Having said that at a certain point having that many QBs on the roster deters recruits from signing up.
I've never seen 7 before. Three is typically the number that you want to have. There is no way they keep even 6 on scholarship. This is just another product of their over signing. Create double the pool of quarterbacks to see who pans out.
