I have AT&T shit verse and have had it for only two months and it's garbage. One unit doesn't work at all, the HD is garbage and now I'm having problems with the other unit. We agreed to a year contract how the hell can we get at of this. We have had service come out and they did nothing to help. There has to be something we can do, I refuse to pay for this garbage
Sorry about your troubles. Bite the bullet and convert to DirecTV. If you have a friend currently with DirecTV service, use his account number during sign up. Both of you will receive a $ 100.00 credit toward your monthly service charge. Hope this helps offset the cost of breaking your contact with AT&T.
I mean is there a way I can break the contract with out having to pay? Bc literally it's unwatchable at this point?
I know the VP of AT&T U-Verse division, he is my neighbor, I can talk to him and see what he can do for you.

that sucks...i love UVerse....
I got Uverse at the beginning of December. It was awful until they just came back out and replaced my hard line with a wireless dvr box in my living room. The signal would freeze at a minimum 10 times per day. I would have to reboot and it would still freeze. Finally I got a bill, so I called to get them to replace the box. They had already replaced it once because the dvr wasn't working for the first 2 weeks I had the service. This was all after they didn't show up for 2 scheduled installations (It was scheduled for 8-11 then got bumped back to 1-5 on a saturday. I was not a happy camper so they rescheduled it for Tuesday.
I bitched and moaned for over an hour to the tech. My orignal bill was supposed to be $105+ taxes. I had them waive the rental fee for the Residential Gateway ($6), the $10 DVR Fee, and the $10 HD Fee. So that got it down to approximately $80 + taxes. Then they gave me $15 credit for the 3 days I had to wait for service to be installed on Tuesday instead. I was relatively ok with that until the TV was working horribly with all the freezing, but I knew they couldn't really do anything for me until they knew what I was billed for so I waited and dealt with it.
So my bill came through yesterday and I was charged for 2 months (December and January). I called in immediately and complained more about all the issues I have had. The billing person gave me a $50 credit and turned me over the the supervisor. She gave me an additional $30 to bring my bill down to approx. $75. I was a little happier. I then spoke with the tech to set up them replacing the box. They sent someone out that same day and he replaced both HD/DVR Boxes and the gateway. Now everything has worked great. The TV I was having issues with was replaced with a Wireless box which seemed to fix the freezing. He thought it was because the line was probably getting overloaded so this would free up the line a bit to send a better signal. Everything seems great since. No freezing what so ever.
And this is where the best part happened. The supervisor who I got the $30 credit called after the tech left to see how things went and see if the original tech had helped answer questions when I called in. I explained again to her (the same supervisor from before who I complained to) the same issues and she gave me a credit for the remainder of my bill. So all and all they gave me $150+ in credits that day. I was able to save quite a bit of money for limited issues I had to deal with. The internet overall has been fantastic an TV is better without the freezing. I think the HD looks a lot better now too.
Sorry for the long winded response, but I was pretty stoked with being able to save $25+ per month and the extra $165+ in credits.
Can he hook a brother up with more discounts haha....
Thanks for the responses guys. I really just want it cancelled its a damn headache
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I switched from DirectV to UVerse and love it. If you are having problems with your unit, schedule a tech to come out. Much easier than working through the phone.
We tried that an they said it was the boxes and we are still have problems along with more issues now
I'm currently having similar problems with my WOW UltraTV service (essentially the same as Uverse). I've had three different gateways not work right in the past month. I'm really frustrated there, I don't know what their problem is but it's not my installation.
ATT is a terrible company. I loved my Uverse service, but they are just total idiots. I had it for about 18 months and they never even bothered to show up to bury the cable across my yard. I scheduled 4 separate appointments and each time no one showed, no one called, and they were clueless when I would call back to complain and schedule it to be done. The last straw for me was that during all this in order for them to give me a price discount, they had to give me this extra channel package for x number of months (6 or 12, don't remember). I didn't want any of the channels, but I was assured I'd get a discount and then not get charged for the channels when the time was up, they would just go away. Two months later my bill is jacked up like 30 more dollars for no reason.
I eventually had to just cut the cable and throw it over the fence to their box. This isn't like I have a hard to find house. I'm in the middle of a neighborhood in a suburb of Columbus.
"5 foot 8.....what do they want a basketball team?"
Same here. I've had U-Verse for a few months and love it. Never had an issue with it.
