Just saw the commercial for Saints Row IV. So i have to wonder, how many of you console gamers are gonna continue to play games with such garbage graphics? That game just continues a litany of titles that just look god awful.

PS4 FTW. That is all that needs to be said.
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
Understood. But Half Life 2 is pushing 10 years old and i would argue that it still looks better than some of these current gen games.
I don't waste my time with a lot of the console franchises right now. I play a few games, but my PC has taken over my gaming time a lot over the past couple of years.
For me it isn't as much about the graphics. Game play/design and physics are both far more important.
Lets wait till we see gta 5
PS4 on pre-order. Not buying or playing any games until I have it. Except Dark Souks 2...but hopefully they build it for next gen. And I saw that Saints Row commercial. Those graphics are embarrassing.
Yeah i saw some trailers for that and it looks pretty damn good.
Ya consoles won't ever equal what a PC can do, but there's just something about the accessibility of flicking on my playstation, on my big screen, and having that gamepad in my hands.
You guys try The Last of Us yet? DAMN GOOD game. Even the multiplayer is good! But ya i find myself often times looking back on that game with fond memories, kinda like a really good book! Great story
True enough, but the vast of majority of popular PC games are built for consoles as well. This means that they are graphically limited to DX 9 (much to my disdain) so that it can run on XBox 360. Even still, you can see how great a game like Skyrim or the new GTA looks when even this generations old graphics platform is used to its capability. Those games look incredible!
I dunno, i see games like Saints Row IV, Uncharted, and Red Dead Redemption and am just angry that gaming companies think they can get away with this. I mean, it'd be like running Windows in 256 color mode.
Undecided as of yet, but I'm happy for people on both sides of Xbox and PSN. Getting sick of the console war that's been going on everywhere. Just play what you like, and be happy with it.

If you're over 12 years old you shouldn't be playing video games.

What did you say??? Sorry, couldn't hear you, I was having too much FUN playing GTA5.
Just finished SR3... not impressed at all...
Exactly. Which is what you'll be doing tonight instead of going out on a date. Seriously, have you ever talked to a woman without having to give her your credit card number?
lol this guy is a tool^^^
This isnt the 80's anymore. Im 22 and im willing to pet 70% of guys my age play video games frequently. The number is probably higher than that.
Also willing to be my life is 100% more badass than yours. Twitter handle is below.
The final mission alone was worth the $60 I paid for SRIV. I was in tears for 45 minutes straight from laughing so hard.
And wtf at the the OP. You do know the game looks the same save for higher framerate and higher resolution right? And even then you need a beastly PC to play it at even decent settings.

Yeah you're pretty cool.
I'm not talking about comparing SRIV on PC vs console. I'm just saying that it visually looks like a game from 2006, especially when you compare to titles like Skyrim, Battlefield 3 or the Mass Effect series. And as i said in my post above, since most games released now are cross-platform, that means even PC version only gets DirectX 9 capability, which is came out with Windows XP. For reference, Windows 8 supports DirectX 12. So you don't need a beastly PC to play these game, only one that can be marginally better than the hardware inside an XBox 360.
eh. So people over 12 shouldnt have hobbies? hmm. Our (my) generation has grown up with them, they can be the same thing as reading a book for some or engaging in social networking for others.
Should it be an hours a day thing if you have responsibilities to attend to? no. I can only hop on occasionally now, but to say that I shouldn't be playing at all is shortsighted.Your extreme angle on the argument makes your point sloppy.

and why even come onto this thread if you so obviously do not like video games? if you have an argument to make, present it logically and not like one of those 12 year olds you referenced. gtfo here.
Hi, married and an avid gamer.
What do you do for a hobby? Hang out on message boards or something?
