I just got the Directv whole home DVR. It is pretty slick. It can record five shows at once. I have an additional reciever in my bed room and with them combined I can record seven shows at once. The receivers communicate with each other. What ever you record on one receiver you can watch it on the other. The whole home dvr is double the capacity of a regular hd dvr. I think its 400 hrs of hd programming that it can hold. Directv has the most HD channels and I believe dirctv carries some channels that dish does not, such as AMC if you watch the Walking Dead or Breaking Bad....great shows. I think directv is a little more expensive. I had dish at one time and between the two I give directv the edge.
Dtv, no comparison
For sports nobody beats Directv and they have all the options plus more as everyone else. You get the sports tier and enjoy watching any sporting event ever. Plus you get Beinsports and you can watch tons of soccer.
Directv and its not even close. They're all about customer service and have great sports packages. I once called with a question about my bill and ended up getting nfl Sunday ticket and showtime for free for my inconvenience.
"Watch tons of soccer"....uh,...no thanks.
Yes. Direct TV. Highly recommended.
Since I am a new U-Verse customer....what hassles have you experienced? I dumped Time Warner because frankly, it was awful.

Wow, I'm shocked. I tried Direct TV for a month last year (and TW) and it isn't even close. Sign with Dish. The remote, tvguide and dvr simply can't be any easier or user-friendly.
The only guarantee that I'll offer is that you will be very happy with Dish. Maybe Direct TV has gotten better, but Dish is awesome.
I guess I'm curious. All you folks recommending Direct tv - Have you tried Dish?
Btw, I have absolutely no vest interest of affiliation with any of them.
Direct TV & it ain't even close!
I just ran the numbers. It has better channel packages AND it's cheaper. (And I was with Dish for years...still am until DirecTV is installed in a couple weeks.)
I'll add channels I want AND save $22/mo.
The only down-side of DirecTV is that their DVR hard drive is only 1TB instead of 2TB (which Dish has). However, if it ever comes to that, I'm pretty sure you can add an additional external drive.
Directv and not even close since I have had both.
direct tv is great very satisified
lol i think it is what you have used i have never tried dish
I have directv and like it a lot- but would really recommend getting the service plan that comes with it. If the equipment or anything craps out, it's replaced no charge. I've had a few boxes go out on me which I would have had to pay for. I would also pay close attention when they come to install, because some of the third party installers they contract with have not been the most experienced techs I've seen. Make sure everything, I mean everything, that you get is working 100% before they leave.
