Waited on the person that did the rb thread that went so well. They didn't jumpstart this one, so Im going to piggyback on that.
Who is the best qb that you have seen in the pros? I wasn't born until the mid 60's so I missed out on Johhny Unitas, Otto Graham, Bart Starr and etc. For me, in the more modern era Im going with Dan Marino. Dude put up unbelievable stats. Great passer with a quick release, kind of like Manning nowadays. Had a couple of arguments with ppl at work that say that he can't be considered because he never won a super bowl. Thats BS. Thats not the only measuring stick. I would also put Joe Montana and Peyton Manning in there. What say you?
1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Otto Graham
4. Steve Young
5. Joe Montana
6. Johnny Unitas
7. John Elway
8. Dan Marino
9. Drew Brees
10. Fran Tarkenton
I assume no one will agree with this list, but oh well. This is how I'll go, I guess (I'm open to arguments for/against my list, so have at it).
I'm for Roger Staubach. as for current, gonna go with Payton over Brady. as for future, gonna go on a limb and say Kaepernick is going to be a stud!! Dude is amazing. Over all, Roger Staubach.

who can argue!
Damn, knew I'd forget someone lol.
Elway, Montana, Brady, Johnny U, Farve
Tampa Bay got rid of Steve Young. lol. they suck! got rid of Doug Williams too.
Farve always reminded me of Terry Bradshaw. Damn I hated Bradshaw. He was hella good.
Peyton and Brady (as much as I hate to admit it) are the best I've seen in my lifetime. Steve Young was awesome as well. By the time he's done, I think Aaron Rodgers will be in the top 5 of all-time discussion.
The CHASE is on...
I have a few that really stick out to me.
If I had to pick one I would go with Manning or Tom Brady, I will never pull for him ( Brady) but he puts his team in a position to win each and every game. Go Bucks!

You would pick Manning, but based on overall QB play, you would pick Brady? You're contradicting yourself here.
Elway is the most overrated athlete maybe ever. His performances in Super Bowls is ATROCIOUS. He led the league in yards once, which isnt a stat thats indicative of qb skill necessarily. He played a long time at a high level and is a HOFer, but nowhere even close to the top. The Drive and winning his last game elevated him a laughable level in people's minds.
"Dorsey...under pressure...throws iiiiiit. Incomplete. The Buckeyes win!" - Keith Jackson
If you are consistent and hold Elway to that standard, then take the over rated Manning off your list too.
Manning has underachieved in the playoffs, but he has broken records, led the league in several categories of merit, and has several mvps. No comparison.
Elway has outperformed Manning in the playoffs and Super Bowls. If you are going by stats alone, the Favre is better than Manning.
I'm going to make an argument for my personal favorite QB. Bernie Kosar. Not saying he is #1 but top ten
Look at accomplishments versus supporting cast. Name any HOFamers from his era on the Browns?????
Bernie had 90% of his audibles go for positive yards for his career. Not a bad stat. Shows he knows how to read a defense. If not for the drive and the fumble he would have had 2 Superbowl appearances
He was throwing to guys like Brennon and his only real threat he had on roster was Eric Metcalf for his career
With better talent he could have been all timer IMO
What are you talking about? Manning's stats destroy Favre's. For these stats, 100 is average, below 100 is bad, anything over 100 is good. 120 is hall of fame caliber.
Manning: 114 Y/A+, 119 Comp%+, 118 TD%+, 107 INT%+, 122 Sack%+, 119 QBR+
Favre: 105 Y/A+, 111 Comp%+, 113 TD%+, 98 INT%+, 111 Sack%+, 109 QBR+
This means that per play, Manning averages 9% more yards per pass, completes 8% more passes, his passes go for TDs 5% more, throws 9% fewer interceptions, gets sacked 11% less often, and has a QB rating of 10% more.
Over a long career, that really adds up. Statistically, there is no comparison as to who was the better of these two QBs
Sorry Tempe, been busy lately. lol Thanks for picking up
1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Joe Montana
Manning with Barry in the backfield! 90% of the other posters I'm assuming have Jim Brown back there.
